Sturdy gear motor
I am using this motor to drive the lift on a drill press table. The motor is solid and has plenty of torque for my needs. It's quiet and reversable. My only complaint is that you must use the provided speed control, and the instructions indicate that you shouldn't start the motor without first setting the speed knob to minimum. This suggests that the electronics in the speed controller may be a bit marginal. Rather than kicking out the starting winding with a centrifugal switch, the motor provides a small AC signal on two extra leads coming out of the housing. If one is good with electronics, you could use that signal to trigger an alternate means of switching out the starting winding, which allows one not to use the provided speed controller and is the route I took. I think this is a good gear motor, it just was a bit different than I was expecting. I would recommend it to others.

Variable direct drive low speed operation without belts or pullies
I bought this to build a "homer Bucket" tumbler. It performs exactly as needed providing controllable low RPM direct drive with no need for belts and pullies

Replacement parts not available
My motor controller burned out with smoke the first time I powered it. Because I had purchased it earlier than I installed it, there was no warranty coverage. There is no way to contact the seller to buy a new motor controller.

Excellent high torque motor and speed control.
Mounted easy and the speed control works smoothly. I would use this combo again.

Performs well
Motor and gearbox are compact and powerful. Price is a plus. 15mm output shaft did create the need to bore out a 1/2” sheave as I couldn’t find a 15mm bore sheave in the US. Will purchase again as I have another project that this item will work perfectly on.

Defective controller
Controller smoked when first plugged in. Attempted to purchase new controller only. Supplier would not sell controller - claims motor and controller are a unit. Must return both AND PAY POSTAGE for heavy motor to Chino, CA. Not worth the cost. Just a rip-off. Plan to just trash both. Do not buy this Chinese-made motor/controller. It's worthless. I would give it a zero, except a 1 is as low as I can go.
