Nikwax Softshell Cleaning & Waterproofing DUO-Pack, Cleans and Restores DWR Water Repellency in Jackets, Pants, Vests, Outerwear, Ski and Snow Gear

I recently tried the Nikwax Softshell Cleaning & Waterproofing Duo-Pack on my outdoor gear, and I am thoroughly impressed with the results. Works as described. However, I did need to hang my clothing in the garage for the smell to dissipate. Definitely cleans and waterproofs.

I will say, after using it in a wash tub, it sort of cleaned it. I figured I would have better luck going through the wash 3 times using a commercial washer, and it was a little bit better, but it didn't make the white on my jacket pop out. It DID help with the water shedding, but it would have been amazing if it super cleaned my jacket. The jacket is a Rev It Sand 4 H20, and it didn't harm it, only helped it. It is a mesh jacket, so it's safe to use. If this was a bit cheaper or come in bigger bottles, I'd be happy, but I wash my gear once a month, and ride about 900 miles a month, so I need the wash more than others.

The recommendations on their website were very helpful. I first washed my jackets (2 at a time) with 3.3 oz of the Tech Wash in a front loader on a warm water low spin cycle. Immediately upon completion, I filled the liquid soap dispenser tray with 3.3 oz of the Soft Shell Proof and ran a warm water low spin cycle. Once that completed, I hung them up for about 20 minutes and then ran them in the dryer at a medium temperature for about 30 minutes (thank you to the other reviewer for that recommendation). With this approach, these bottles allowed for 3 cycles each, thus 6 jackets. The outcome is better than I expected. The Tech Wash somehow cleaned them better than my regular detergent and in combination with the Soft Shell Proof revitalized the color and fabric of all the jackets I washed (ski, running, fall, etc. jackets). It has not rained yet since I did all that, but I tested the water resistance by splashing them with water and it beaded up immediately. Nothing went through the fabric. This is not a cheap a product, but it does what it claims and it does so very well. My jackets were investments for me and I plan on doing this at least once a year.

I purchased a second hand NorthFace jacket and wanted to ensure that it was cleaned appropriately. After researching cleaning solutions, I came across Nikwax and decided to give it a try. Simple instructions. Smells great! Water ran off the jacket once I ran it under water. Was amazed! Great buy!

I used this to revitalize the waterproofing on a Marmot rain jacket that I got secondhand off of REI Outlet about 3 years ago. I live in WA so I use this jacket often, so the waterproofing definitely needs some revamping. I love that it is so easy to use since it’s safe to use an HE washer—no have-washing required is big plus. There is no scent that I can tell, and it does not leave any weird residue in the washer or dryer. As the video shows, my jacket is now back to at least strong water resistance, which, considering its age and amount of use, I am more than happy with. I’ve also used this product on a couple other jackets with similar results (better, in the case of my newer jackets)—all in all it’s a great product and worth the slightly high cost!

I don't know how well this works. I used it on some materials that were already water resistant, and it didn't seem to make any difference there. I also used the other one on my rain coat and rain pants to make sure they were ready for a trip, and I can't say that they weren't already waterproof before - so again, I'm not sure if it makes a difference.

Used the product, so far seems to have worked in improving the waterproofing of my fairly well used rain jacket! Just enough product for 3 jackets!

Use the wash to clean my dirty arcteryx jacket and the put the waterproof in on a second wash. This to produces are worth the money if you have a expensive jackets you want to look after, the only 1 bad thing about washin waterproofer is that it doesn't waterproof all the jacket, so just the spray version for after you wash it 8/10 for me tho

Very Good cleaner for waterproof clothes.

I used this to wash my down and synthetic down jackets. It worked like a charm and would highly recommend.

Great and works well and came really well protected and wrapped up really well
