PORTER-CABLE Air Compressor, 6-Gallon, Pancake, Oil-Free (C2002-ECOM)

I bought this air-cooled compressor to replace a 2.5 hp, 70 pound oil-lubricated compressor that was still going strong after 25 years of use. As a 70+ senior who can't heft as much weight as I could when I was 30 years old, I definitely appreciate the light weight of this Porter Cable compressor...only 30 pounds or thereabouts. I can move it anywhere I want with no difficulty - including lifting it into my wheelbarow if I need to take it somewhere else at a distance. It is no louder than the one it is replacing - which is another big benefit. The packaging was very substantial and it would easily survive rough handling by the "Samsonite Gorilla" (for those of you old enough to remember him!!) I have several Porter Cable air driven hand tools (nailers and otherwise) and I have never experienced problems with any of them. My guess it that this compressor will peform equally well. GREAT PRODUCT - FAIR PRICE - HIGHLY RECOMEND.

This is not a quiet compressor, but I’ll take it over a quieter one that is not as well-built/sturdy. It has the oomph to fill up fast, & holds the pressure so that I can air up two vehicles’ tires without the compressor motor kicking back on. I can unplug it & carry it around to each tire, & finish a lot quicker than with my old one. I am very happy with this purchase & highly recommend this particular model from this manufacturer!

I am pleased with this item. It works well but it's noisy and I keep the pressure turned all the way up so it starts immediately as I use it but I'm sure it will be a lasting addition to my shop. I bought it to replace an older model which I had for many years and I used it as a professional trim carpenter. I'll expect the same from this one.

Excellent portable compressor I’ve tripped several other brands of seminar sized compressors, but the pumps give out if you use them for a long time. This one (it’s my second one, I have them in 2 locations) is great! No good for painting a house though, you need a bigger tank for that. You’ll burn it out if it runs for part of the day with out giving it a breather!

Very reliable. I have two of these and have never had a problem with either of them.

Real world test happened before I ever used it. Accidentally ran it over with my pickup truck. I could only laugh at my stupidity after I cursed it first. The power cord connections have a quick release and detached nicely without causing damage. I had to removed the housing to reattach them. Used it the entire rest of the summer framing a wood shed.
