Yes, the watch is stainless steel. The watch and band together weigh 45 grams, or 1.6 ounces. It feels fairly light to me.

So it's the days of the week in Japanese kanji. 月火水木金土日 (Moon, fire, water, wood, gold, earth, sun).

How do you change the band? It doesn't look like it has normal pins.

It uses a standard type spring pin and a bracket on the back of the band. You push in the pin and can remove the bracket and band. YouTube has videos of this.
