Is this item waterproof?

I purchased these boots for my trip to England and they kept my socks dry! The upper part of the boot is soft and the bottom sturdy. Would recommend.

I wear a size 8 in Ariat boots but a 8.5 in tennis shoes, what size should I get?

I went by my tennis shoe size and they were exact and I wore riding (thick) socks. These were so comfortable, wore them all day and forgot I was wearing boots. Great for riding, everyone thought I was a professional rider with these boots on. It was my first time. Hope that helps. Just depends on how snug you like them and the thickness of your socks. 8.5 or 9. Easy to clean.
