The diffuser is not battery operated -- it comes with a power cord for a standard outlet.

Is the machine noisy or rather how noisy is this machine when it's running?

Hello,I can honestly say that it's pretty quite.If all is quite you can here the fan turn on but not to the extend that is loud and rattle. The fan is quite and not noisy.I have mines on top of the carpet behind the corner table so you can't hardly here it nor see it. That's how Westin keeps theirs hidden from public view. What am im doing wrong? I can't smell anything. Yes the fan is on lol. But it's not pretty smelling. I'm sad

I am soo disappointed. I love walking into the Westin and that smell. It last literally a day then gone. I even called and customer service sent me a new cartridge same thing. It’s even in a small place where it should make a difference. In the end either westin uses a different style unit or they have 50 of them everywhere bc this unit only covers a small sqft in the spec. Again so sad
