They are black but virtually see-through. Extra large says 15Y/16Y. My son is a 10-year-old kid who comes up to my nose, weighs 105 lb at best, and these shorts look like something he outgrew a year or two ago. For the cheap price, I am guessing these are knockoff Adidas? They are going right back. Cheapest quality, so small. It's ridiculous.

Thin-ish material, but the Hot Pink color is perfect
Shorts material is a bit on the thin side, at least in the hot pink. Perfectly usable for wrestling practice though. My sons college team is sponsored by Adidas, so all practice clothes need to be Adidas with the school logo. And in order to not be boring he wanted hot pink shorts rather than the sponsor supplied black & white ones. It was easy enough to embroider the school logo to match. My son wrestles in the lower weights and has a 29/30 inch waist so, the XL size works just fine.

Finally, shorts that fit his waist
My grandson is 12, weighs about 90lbs, approximately 56 inches tall. He has a slender build and we have issues with shorts/pants fitting in the waist. The large fit him perfectly. He doesnt like basketball shorts because he says they are too long. These are the only shorts he will wear. Many reviews say they are very sheer. It's true enough if you hold them up in front of a light or a window. However, once the child is actually wearing them it is not a problem. I cannot see the color of his underwear. They are comfortable and light weight. Perfect for him as we live in a warm/hot climate. Highly recommend !

These are basically see through
The fit of these shorts are true to size and the length is good as well. They do not, however, provide the typical coverage you get from athletic shorts. The material is light weight but essentially see through. Even with underwear the same color you will see your underwear through the shorts. Great if you plan to wear them over bike or compression shorts

Runs small and thin material but my son still likes and wears them.
My son likes these shorts for football practice because they do not have pockets. Also note the fabric is very thin and as it is super hot where we live that is good for him. I think they run a bit on the small size and maybe you should order a size up if you don't like a tight fit.. he is 14 and thin and the 16sz fits tight.
