This is a replacement for a similar drive that failed in a small laptop after a severe drop. It installed with no trouble, partitioned, formatted and reinstalled the operating systems and everything is working fine with no unusual burps or clicks and the usual burn-in time has elapsed with zero issues. These are designed to be laptop drives or backup drives of course, and it should be no surprise they get a little het up and stumble in things like media servers and gaming systems. Likewise be wary of the one-stars who are not actually reviewing this product but something lesser they received from a repackager. Check your vendor and make sure you are getting the exact factory new product and then use it for its intended purpose, and these inexpensive little drives will work fine. Works great in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Easy installation and recovery using Mac's Time Machine backup. Took just a few minutes to physically install the drive. 45 minutes later, after the Time Machine restoration, I was up and running again. Drive is working very well. Laptop runs faster than when it was new!

Very nice. About 1/4" high. I use these only for backup only though (hot swappable) installed under linux. Purchased 2 of them. Once plugged in I back up DATA once a week using an executable script that creates one huge "tar" file. this file is dated and this drive will hold about 30 files before I need to begin to delete the earliest ones. I always restore to a redirected directory and THEN parse out from there (as I may not want to overwrite existing data). Experienced linux user.

Bought this drive as a replacement for our daughters lap-top " A Dell" Drive works well and took care of what was essentially a dead computer. PS: If you need to replace a hard-drive in a Dell computer you'll want to down-load the repair manual from Dell's web-site. Their is no way I would have been able to have replaced the drive without the manual.

Work fine; I used it as an emergency Back Up dive for a couple SSD drives. I don't know if it this drive or I forgot. It took forever to copy to it and programs run slower than the SSDs. A lot slower. Trust me. went back to the SSDs after the back up. Like day and night. Maybe nothing wrong with the drive. I just didn't remember how nice it was to switch to SSDs.

Placed in an older laptop someone had gotten fubar'd and didn't want anymore. Reloaded Windows and works great now. A good price and bunch of storage. Fast seek times.

I ordered these for my HP HDX18 and they have been working amazingly I’ve actually installed windows 10 (which many bloggers say they weren’t able to do) it is working mostly flawlessly. These drives brought back life into one of my most favorite laptops of all time.

L’hard disk rispetta le specifiche ed è perfettamente compatibile con le playstation3; l’ho montato sulla mia slim, ma le specifiche sono le stesse anche per le altre versioni. L’hard disk è a puntina, quindi la velocità è la medesima del disco precedente, non ha dato alcun problema, e ad un mese dall’installazione tutto va bene. ho messo 5 stelle per l’ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

This is Seagate barracuda 7 mm 2.5” hard disk. Worth for money and easy to install. I bought it for 2999.the data processing speed is really good and give a new life to my Acer Aspire 4743. A little expensive compare to other models but the speed is really good.just go for it. This is day one review. Let’s see how it’s going to work on coming days. I am disappointed with product package. This product is not shock free. Any medium shock may affect the life of HDD. Amazon have to consider to pack with bubble pack. I had received the product in a polythene cover. Review after two years of using. Excellent product.
