Real Butter Powder, 2LB (Pack of 1)

It mixes nicely with cold water. Has a gritty texture until the water saturates. Really didn’t check the ingredients until now. So even though it says real butter, which it is, the other ingredients take up space. Nonfat dry milk and least we not forget salt. Definitely don’t need to add salt. It’s easy to calculate doses. I needed 2 tbsp of butter, so 1/4 cup powered butter, 1 tbsp cold water, will equal = 2 tbsp of butter. The taste reminds me of the real butter in the Philippines. Tastes like butter but not quite there. But, no one should expect it to taste exactly like butter. Anywho, we need it so that one doesn’t have to add an extra ingredient in the end.

This is much better than the previous one I tried, it's not too salty. Decent for a butter substitute.

Unfortunately, this doesn't have the 'butter flavor' I had hoped for, which does NOT mean this doesn't taste like butter, as it does, IF I think of think of butter tasting more like cream than the actual 'butter' flavor I hoped for, which comes out when butter is heated - which may be my problem - maybe IF I heat it, the flavor will develop?! As I specifically got this for 'buttered popcorn' it falls short on the flavor I was looking for, BUT to use in place of butter in recipes for example, it works beautifully, so that is what I'll use it for unless/until I find it way/means to develop the flavor for my popcorn which has become a daily bedtime snack lately!! While the cost is significantly more than I'd pay for the same amount of butter, there's something to be said about the convenience of having it avail in this form for any time I run out, or don't have access to refrigeration! I'd buy it again to keep on hand.
