Finally some decent USB speakers
After trying several other speaker sets for my PC I bit the bullet and ordered these. Although quite pricey they are superb. They connect to the PC via USB which provides audio and allows the installed software to apply equalizer effects and other pretty cool options. If you can't use the USB connection, then you can use Bluetooth or the usual 3.5mm AUX. Although with those options you can't control the tone of the sound. The speakers look really nice next to my monitors and the cable between the two is an adequate 2m long - although I would have preferred it to be a little longer. Sadly, it appears to be a proprietary connector. I did ask Creative about an extension cable and they just said, 'We don't sell them, and the length is optimal to ensure sound quality' - sounds like a load of bull, but never mind. The speakers have a volume dial (independent from the PC volume, so you can set your PC to 100% and set the speakers to the loudest you want and then work from there), there is also a mode switch button, a surround button (that improves the sound projection), and a clear dialog button (that is supposed to clean up voices, but I haven't used that). You can also connect a microphone and headphones to the speakers and toggle them off with a button on the front. All in all, excellent speakers, that sound excellent.

Decent speakers
I wanted some speakers for my office desk that could be connected via USB-C. There' aren't many on the market that use USB-C, so I went for the T60. Positives: -Good range of connections - USB-C, Aux, Microphone, Headphones, Bluetooth. -Smart design. -Decent sound for the price. -Loud max volume for their size. Negatives: -Bass is lacking, I would have preferred it to have small sub woofers within the units even if it pushed the price up. -The high gloss front is a finger print magnet. I'd have preferred a mesh grill to cover the speakers. -When connected via USB-C, it doesnt let you control the volume from your PC/Mac's native volume bar, which is annoying and unnecessary as that function can be offered on other speakers I've used. Certainly room for improvement, but a good buy for the price.

Good speakers for their size, but with a few design niggles
These are good desktop stereo multimedia speakers with a useful range of input options and audio settings. I am using them for PC multimedia - listening to music, video audio and some light gaming all at my desk. # Sound quality I am no audiophile, but to my ear sound quality is well balanced and doesn't suffer from being excessively bassy or tinny as some multimedia speakers are. There are two built-in preset buttons, one to activate what Creative call "surround" (which seems to enhance the certain lower frequencies) and the other "clear dialog" (which enhances voices). You can switch both on at once which I have found works quite well for music with vocals. Overall, no complaints with sound quality. # Controls The speakers have three buttons on the front, plus a volume control. The buttons are power / mode selection, surround toggle (which also allows switching between the speakers and plugged-in headphones), and clear dialog toggle. The controls make sense once you learn them, but I did have to clarify a couple of things in the manual when I first set everything up. The iconography on the speakers themselves leaves something to be desired. The two multi-function buttons (power and surround toggle) rely on short and long (2 second) presses to activate their different behaviours. This mostly works, although there have been a few occasions where they have done the wrong thing due to incorrectly recognising a long press as a short press. Irritatingly the speakers do not remember their last setting when they lose power. So if like me you have to switch them off at the wall regularly you need to cycle through to the settings you want each time you use them. It's not a huge inconvenience, but it does make me wonder if the control buttons will last indefinitely given so much use. # Connectivity Three input modes are provided - USB, Bluetooth and 3.5mm jack. All seem to work well. There are also headphone and microphone jacks. Unfortunately these are at the rear so not particularly accessible if you need to plug into them regularly. As previously mentioned, you can switch between headphone and speaker output so you don't need to unplug the earphones to listen to the speakers. A range of cables are provided in the box including power, USB-C (plus adapter for older USB-3) and 3.5mm audio. The left and right speakers are connected together by another 3.5mm cable which is hard-wired into the left speaker. # Size The speakers are on the large side for desktop multimedia speakers, with a nominal footprint of approximately 9cm wide by 14cm deep by 20cm high. However, the provided cables stick out of the back so the total required depth is more like 16-18cm, depending on how much you care about bending your cables. # Conclusion These speakers provide good audio for my purposes, and I have plenty of desk space so their size is not an issue. There are a few niggles: ideally headphone and microphone jacks would be at the front, and the speakers should remember their last setup between power cycles. However, none of these problems are major concerns so overall I'm content with them.

They still work with earphones plugged in!
My favourite feature of these speakers is that you can hear sound coming through them without removing the earphones. You can switch between earphones/speakers by holding down the surround button for one second but you don't get sound coming from both at the same time which is just who you want it. There's also a handy earphone extension cable which means you don't have to fumble around the back to plug your earphones in. The sound coming from the speakers is of very high quality, although I recommend leaving the surround mode on all of the time otherwise they sound flatter and slightly muffled. The cable that connects the two speakers together is about 6 feet long which is nice seeing as you often get short cables with things these days. There's a slightly odd delay when you raise or lower the volume, it fades up and down over the course of one second rather than instantly changing but it's no problem. These are brilliant speakers with top-quality sound and lots of connectivity that saves you the hassle of constantly plugging/unplugging earphones.

sound quality is subpar. for the price I'm sure there are better options out there.

What I like: 1. Decent music quality for given the modest price. 2. Possibility to adjust some basic settings on the speaker. 3. Changing between connections (audio jack, usb and bluetooth) works well. 4. No annoying sounds when turning on and off. 5. Only a small red light when off, instead of blue of some of the competing speakers. What I don't like: 1. When connecting the speaker to the usb dock via the usb cable, the speaker turns off and on every now and then. This is weird, as the speaker is being powerd by a separate cable. There was no effective solution provided on the Creative website and through email. My solution was to attach the 3.5mm audio jack. This does not decrease the music quality. The only downside is that the app does not run with this cable, but the app's functions are not necessary anyway.
