Origin8 Fix8 Stem

The media could not be loaded. I use this because I changed bars on a Fat Tire BMX and it worked out perfectly put a hangers on it looks dope the neck itself is high quality steel went together just fine works perfect kudos

I needed a stem for an Origin8 basket/handlebar combo for an old Schwinn. The Suntour 21.15mm stem didn't hold so I went with a headless 22.15 to 1 1/8" threadless adapter and this stem. The inside face is smooth, like the SunTour but there is more area and as far as I can tell, that basket is not going anywhere. It may be bcasue of the 4 (vice 2 in the SunTour) stem. And the suirface contact area is great.I had no requirements for a rise - this stem has none (or a bit if you flip it over).

I recently bought a used fixed gear and the stem that came with it felt weak and not rigid when pulling/pushing on the handlebars and I wanted to replace it. The Origin8 Fix-8 Ahead Stem seemed to be an affordable option for what i needed, and the product did not disappoint. The stem light yet durable, easy to install, and aesthetically looks great on the bike. Overall a great product for the price. I would recommend this to product.

This stem really does the job I needed it to do: beefy bmx style stem with the 25.4 mm clamp size that most BMX stems don't do. The only drawback for me is that it's a bit on the heavy side, but that's to be expected from a burly stem.

I have not mounted it yet. It looks great. Is clearly not for the weight weenie biker. Is basically a solid piece of aluminium with a center hole bored into it for minimal weight reduction.

You will read previews where people say "it's great" or "it stripped - sucked", but often they won't explain what they were trying to accomplish with this. This stem is not good for long ape hangers like 25" if you are leaning back and pulling hard on them, because this stem is aluminum and wasn't designed for that. For average handlebars like cruiser/straight/drops, this will work fine and clamp down nicely. If wanting to use for ape hangers I would suggest something steel or a more rugged alloy. Notice the 8nM written on the bolts section - that 8 represents how hard you can torque each bolt - if you overtorque the bolt past 8nM it will strip, just like it's spec'd.

Great stem that I paired with the Velo Orange Klunker Bars. This is a light stem for a bmx stem, but heavier than most mountain bike stems.
