My grandmother had a small radio she used to listen to all the time and continually asked me to get batteries for her. I tried rechargeable batteries but she was never satisfied, she didn't like them, they never lasted long enough. When mother passed we could not bring ourselves to get rid of that radio although it was probably not worth much. Funny how you remember things about loved ones when they are gone. She would also say one of these days I am gong to get me a plug in for that radio but she never did. I was fine with the rechargeable but I wondered if I could find the correct power supply for the radio. I searched several times to no avail. then I looked at the back of the radio and the input configuration. Still nothing I wondered if there was some kind of universal transformer but nothing seemed be the correct power and the correct input until I ran across this little gem. It has to be expensive I thought but i was determined to get something that worked. This device has 6 different connections so the guess work of getting the correct input was done for me (I would check however to make sure the polarity is correct). On the transformer which plugs into regular house current 120 AC there is a small switch on the side going from 3v 4.5v 5v 6v 9v 12v Switching Power Supply 1 amp AC to DC Universal Adapter 12w Transformer with 8 Tips 2.35 x 0.7mm, 2.5mm, 3.0 x 1.15mm, 3.5 x 1.35! I was ecstatic when i got the transformer just like a tech kid on Christmas morning. If this thing would work on the radio and it did I would be totally satisfied. However a couple days ago my Wife Margaret wanted to mail the children some Christmas gifts. We needed a scale. I told her we had one but probably needed a new battery. I remember the reason we had not used it in over 10 years it had a square battery and we just never got around to getting one. Then I had an idea I looked at the back and there was an input for external power supply. These things never seem to come with their own stuff I guess thats marketing or something but boy what a hassle. I looked for the correct input pulled out the one for the radio and plugged in the correct one for the scale and it worked perfectly I may have to get another one for my radio! I just wanted to send my appreciation for making such a useful product. Oh and the cost? I was pleasantly surprised very affordable.

Product functioned as expected and the a ability to select the correct output plug, voltage and polarity was essential for what I needed. Paying a few dollars more for these features was worth it to me.After using the adapter for awhile, there are two improvements that would make the product even better. 1) the cord from the wall socket to the plug in terminal is a little too short. I find myself having to sit fairly close to the plug in when using the adapter. 2) partly as a result of (1), the terminal is a little loose fitting on the extension from the plug in and has a tendency to disconnect--I may tape it so this doesn't happen. These aren't deal breakers--just suggestions for improvements.

I left my power cable for my Homedics massage while I was visiting family out of state. I did not want to buy a new power cable or a new Homedics massager, and got this instead for half the price I would have paid. Worked like a charm! This would be great if I lose or wear out another cable for my other appliances, too!

I needed an AC adapter for a small Sound Matters FOXL portable speaker. It is just old enough that information on the type of charger I would need. I knew the Volt and Amp requirements but not the size or polarity of the barrel plug. This product supplies the correct range of power, the ability to alter the polarity of the barrel plug and a great assortment of barrel plug sizes. It works perfectly and was very easy to set up with correct voltage and correct plug. Bought this for a Sega Genesis Model 1 after it appeared the OEM power supply was failing (wavy lines on screen, with loud buzzing sound). This worked great as a replacement. All the used Genesis model 1 OEM power supplies (model 1602) were going for 20+ dollars on ebay and the few third-party power adapters available all seemed a little sketchy to me after reading numerous reviews. So this adjustable power supply looked like a great option. I set it to 9v and used the tip with the blue ring and reversed polarity. This 30w power supply was actually the only one I was able to find on amazon that matched my needs and had the option for negative center polarity (the Genesis requires negative center). Works perfectly so far and love the versatility that it offers for matching up with so many devices.

Works as advertised. Use a volt meter to check the polarity once you have selected the right size for your application.
