Q: This is what I do....before it's mixed it has about half a cup of oil on top. I pour off about half of that, then mix it. It's a little gritty, but it reduces the calories by at least half. Am I throwing away nutrient value, except fat?

Pouring off the Oil leaves the top half of the jar still very creamy I pour the Oil into another Jar and if the bottom part of the jar is a little too dry for sandwiches... i just add a little oil back in from the saved jar. most of the time the adding oil isn't needed.
