BirdRock Home Bamboo Steamer (Classic Bamboo, 10" Diameter)

I had been looking for a bamboo steamer that would be appropriate for making dumplings such as bao. This set has worked beautifully. Previous hesitation was based on keeping it clean, and as it turns out, that's totally a non-issue. I simply put squares of parchment paper under each dumpling. Wood is naturally antibacterial, so I just wipe it with a damp dishcloth and let it air dry. between the properties of the wood and all of the steam, I'm confident that it's nice and sanitary.

I like how it’s easy to use. It cook everything in the same time like meat, fish, vegetables and potatoes. I tried it with fresh pastas, it wasn’t so good for it. About the taste of the other things I mentioned, this is just very good to feel the true taste of the ingredients. Steam is really good and healthy. Also I cooked lamb marinated previously in olive oil and spices: the extra oil fall down and it kept the meat tasty and still juicy. I don’t use my pan anymore for cooking meat. I clean it by hand and it’s dry the next day. Try it, you will adopt it.

Very sturdy, affordable and efficient steamer basket. Had a single tray years ago that I used for years! This is a double tray and is good for larger quantities food prep. Take one tray off and will fit under regular domed wok lid or as pictured for using both trays in use. ( Tall).

Works great , does what it should and was a reasonable price ..others were cheaper but seemed cheaper in the pictures. one thing I found was that because bamboo is a natural product I had to clean up some spots where the bamboo had sheared and I was stabbed by one them which was painful but if you've ever worked with wood .. splinters are going to happen.. I took a pair of nail clippers and tidied it up ... cleaned it then steamed it for about 20 minutes to rehydrate the bamboo and make sure it was clean. I used it for dim sum and worked great..

There is nothing to dislike about this bamboo steamer. Been wanting one for years but dragging my feet now I wish I had gotten one a lot sooner. Does a great job on potstickers, baos, Chinese dumplings and vegetables. I bought a pack of 100 perforated round parchment papers and use them whenever I use the steamer and nothing sticks. Very easy to clean just make sure it dries thoroughly. I air dry mine. Great appliance, absolutely nothing I can find wrong with it.

The bamboo bent after the first steam, so now the baskets don’t stack easily. It’s okay if you know which one goes on the bottom, but too bad you can’t switch them around.

When I decided to make healthy and full in flavour food I thought about this steamer. It’s easy to use, and it gives such a nice flavour. I steam salmon, carrots, potatoes, broccoli. Add a slice of lemon to water and some herb (parsley or dill). The aroma in the room while steaming is so good, makes you hungry. Happy with its quality, also got Perforated Parchment Bamboo Steamer Paper Liners which makes cooking process even easier.

Love this well-made, good quality bamboo steamer. It arrived on time with a nice, little personalised note from the owners. I used it the same day, steaming different veggies. It was easy to use and the bamboo enhances the flavour of the food. My steamer has a double basket, so I can cook an entire meal in it. All you need is a pot that fits well under the steamer, with amount of water adjusted for the food that you are steaming. (You don't need too much.) Some foods obviously take longer, thus use more liquid. Adding fresh herbs further enhances the taste. This steamer is well worth the reasonable cost, and gets so much use that I keep it near my stove. Healthy food that is also delicious, what more can one ask for? Why didn't I get this sooner? Very happy with this product!! Highly recommend it!! in my opinion very well made , strong looks like last a long time i plan on using it with silicon mat inserts to enable easy cleaning .

What a great product! I see some reviews are saying they have a problem with mold and splinters. I fully understand that. Being handmade you have to expect some splinters. I just wiped mine with a damp cloth and they came off,never to be seen again. As far as mold goes, you should never submerge it in water, once you're done washing it leave it out to dry over night. Don't stack it back up, leave it all seperate to dry. You can't beat the price of this steamer. I've made tons of meals in one shot with excellent results!
