Western Digital 3TB WD Red Plus NAS Internal Hard Drive HDD - 5400 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, CMR, 128 MB Cache, 3.5" -WD30EFZX

I have ordered 8 of 3TB WD Red Plus for my TrueNas server. I also used LSI card to connect all of these HDDs. It worked on first try, and for warranty the customer service registered my product even though it was out of region. I just had to upload proof of order, which you can get a copy from "your orders", and spoke a little with WD customer service and walah, it got registered.

The packaging was appalling. 2 units of hard disk drive wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap in an amazon bubble wrap envelope! Should I return the HDD or should I take the risk of the HDD bad sector on my NAS later?

I use these for storage back at our office for the TV shows we make. We use separate SSD drives for on the go storage and have a WD Red Pro at the office for back up. They are reliable and quick and we feel they are the best on the market at the moment.

Keeps making scrubbing sounds at all time. Won't be suitable for use in a home NAS device, if noise is a concern.

bought this drive to replace a failed 4TB WD Red that just exceeded the 3 years warranty. My DS412+ took it in well, no complaints at all. Within a day the rebuild completed. Shipping was great and well within estimated time frame. [Update 16-Jun-2024] Do not buy this (and likely others too) HDD on Amazon.sg if it is sold by Amazon USA. I eventually bought 3 of these from Amazon.sg. In May 2024, 1 of the drives failed, and I discovered that WD will not provide RMA service as the unit is considered "OUT OF REGION". I am in Singapore, but the device was meant to be sold within the USA. WD advised to check with reseller, in this case Amazon.sg. Guess what? Amazon.sg is pushing it back to WD. Stating that the seller is 3rd party in USA, and they can't do anything. Funny how the product is sold by Amazon.com (USA).

Installato in un Synology DS224+, è stato immediatamente riconosciuto mettendo a disposizione lo spazio per la creazione del volume del nas. Ora speriamo nella durata. Performance velocistiche coerenti con le attese … considerato che è un disco meccanico e non un ssd.

HDD qui vient en remplacement d'un autre vieux de quelques annees. memes caracteristiques que les WD red de la generation precedente. Seul gros bemol sur l'emballage: une simple enveloppe et un peu de papier bulles en plus du sachet anti statique. Trop leger pour etre sur d'avoir un disque fonctionnel a l'arrivee. Coup de chance pour celui-ci.
