Q: How do I measure my LOP?

Hi John, I think I just responded to another message from you regarding this so pleaae forgive duplicating!! Great question!! No need to measure lop when using our bands because we never occlude blood flow. B Strong bands, because of our patent pending design, cannot occlude arterial inflow and, thus, cannot use the LOP method to determine the “right” pressure for a session. Instead, we choose a pressure for a given size band to start the 1st session. If you need to convince yourself that the pressures used do not occlude, feel a distal pulse or put a Doppler over a distal artery. #1 green, start at 150 mmHg #2 red, start at 200 mmHg #3 blue, start at 250 mmHg #4 yellow, start at 300 mmHg The key to efficacy is if the client/patient/you gets a feeling of fatigue. If you got good fatigue, use the same pressure next time. If insufficient fatigue, increase the pressure by 50 mmHg (e.g. Started with 200 in a red #2 band, didn’t get good fatigue, next time start at 250 mmHg). We rarely or ever need to go more than 100 mmHg above the recommended starting pressure. Note: these pressures are the pressures in the B Strong bladder and not the pressure exerted on the limb. In summary, because of our unique, safe design, one doesn’t have to use a Doppler with B Strong BFR. Let me know if you need more information.
