Best clamshell style luggage ever, but beware of clamshell shortcomings, and white shows marks
First off, I travel like crazy for work, I'm going to finish this year with ~230k miles (actual miles, no bonuses counted). I've been using Tumi for years, mostly a carry-on size. But lately, I've been wanting to pack some workout shoes/clothes, and sometimes need to pack a warm winter jacket, so carry-on was becoming a pain and too small. So I purchased this Delsey Chatelet. I initially purchased: one medium brown, one medium white for my wife, one large brown, and one carry-on brown. As such, I will cross-post this review to the other models/sizes as well. This luggage looks really good, I mean it looks designer style. Frankly, it looks better than the Rimowa that I was considering buying that was like double to triple the cost. The Delsey is super high quality, inside and out. And the wheels are so smooth! It rolls really effortlessly on hard surfaces, although sometimes on carpet it requires a little more force to get it to start rolling, but not a big deal. The quality of the materials is top notch. The shell is super hard, the zippers are high quality, the lock works well, the popup handle is well constructed. A note on clamshell design: This type of luggage is obviously a clamshell design that opens in the middle, which means that you must put the entire luggage on a flat surface like a bed or floor to open it and pack/unpack. This means that you cannot easily use the luggage rack provided in most hotel rooms. This is quite different if you're coming from a design with a single major compartment and a suiter, It takes some getting used to, but I've adjusted to it and don't mind it. A note of caution on the white color: The white color looks really awesome, my wife really liked it, but after just a single trip, it already showed some dark scuff marks from baggage handling. We ended up wiping it down and returning it and replacing it with a brown unit. If you are willing to live with scuff marks, then fine, but just be aware that it will scuff easily. On the other hand, the brown color shows no noticeable scuff marks after 3 trips now. Great luggage, buy it, you won't regret it. And people at the airport stare at your fancy luggage!

AWESOME GREAT QUALITY LUGGAGE!
Quality is AWESOME. Pockets are great, wish there was even more. Zippers are very sturdy. I love the colors. It makes me want the white as well. I have traveled with this 24" suitcase and the performance is superior. Wheels are great. Handle is sturdy but doesn't take heat well. I Will update when I travel a couple more times. My soft case holds up very well except for the cracked handles. Will purchase a leather conditioner and see if the makes a difference. The hard case seems like it's the same sturdiness and my soft case.

Love my new carryon
I purchased this carry on for a three week winter trip to Europe. Granted, I did have a duffle as well for my coat and shoes but all in all it had plenty of room for my clothing selections. 4 pairs of pants, a skirt , unmentionables, 9 shirts, 2 tanks, and 3 sweaters. In the end, I packed too many clothes but it was nice to have options and my carry on didn’t weigh more than 35 pounds when completely packed and wasn’t ridiculously difficult to put in the overhead compartments. I loved the brake feature, especially on the trains so it wasn’t rolling across isle and the telescope handle was so smooth as well as sturdy. There’s not a doubt in my mind that this is a superior carry on.

I LOVE DELSEY
I'm going to start by saying that this is certainly not an unbiased reviewed. By that I mean, I STAN DELSEY. I haven't had a product from them that I didn't like. I love the Delsey Chatelet collection and the only thing preventing me from collecting more pieces are the cost and the fact that I really don't need more luggage. Anyway, on to the review. I got the medium suitcase to match my 2-wheel underseater carry-on for a week-long work trip. I used the ziploc roll up travel bags and 3 small packing cubes and I was able to pack 2 dress, 1 pair of fleece lined leather leggings, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of boots, 2 sweaters, 3 long sleeve shirts, a toiletry bag, drawstring makeup bag (see this item: DeerHope Quick-Pull Drawstring Waterproof Organizer), and 5 pairs of socks and undergarments. Most of these items fit on one side of the suitcase and I had room for souvenirs on the way back. If you have the underseater bag, or the Delsey Chatelet backpack, either of the items will slide right onto the bar for easy stacking and rolling through the airport. The lock is easy to set and comes with instructions. It did receive a couple of minor scratches on this first trip but I haven't seen any major dings or cracks. One of my travel companions, who used a different brand hardside luggage, actually had her suitcase cracked with a large hole in it. It isn't particularly heavy but I also wouldn't consider this a lightweight bag. It is a bit heavier than my soft suitcase of similar dimensions so that's something to consider. When it comes down to style and practicality, I would recommend. Its a gorgeous suitcase and if you use packing cubes or vacuum seal bags, you can really fit a lot into it.

Handiest and most convenient luggage I ever had.
I'd like the two zippered compartment and the tiedown straps inside. It came with a shoe bag and laundry bag. My favorite though is how easily it rolls and I don't have to drag it. It's light weight too. The only thing I have difficulty with were the instructions because they are in several different languages and I wasn't sure if I was doing everything correctly to register it. It didn't come with the name tag that was mentioned in the instructions. I would recommend this piece of luggage to everyone, especially those who have difficulty lifting and dragging luggage. It fit in the overhead bin too. No need for checked-in luggage.

Look looking luggage with bells and whistles, good for 1 week, not 2 which will be a struggle as it is non-expandable.

We bought two of these gorgeous suitcases and they survived a couple of airplane trips. They are beautiful and so nice to pack into and get through airports. But, having said that, last summer we had one severely damaged on a domestic flight and we replaced it. And then the same thing happened again on our last trip in February 2020. They are too expensive for them to be damaged so easily so we will not be replacing the second broken one. Too bad, because they are so pretty.
