what is the difference between the 3921 and 3922?

These two units are almost identical. The only differences are that the 3921 includes a flexible work light and a blade storage compartment on the side, while 3922 features a special side panel that folds open for easy clean up and blade changes. Also, the 3921 uses the two-direction adapter system for holding blades (better for pinned blades), while the 3922 uses a standard blade holding system (better for pinless blades).

Did anyone find out if a miter gauge or some type of guard can be used to make straight cuts?

If your material to be cut allows enough room on the table portion to attach a straight edge with clamps, it will work just fine. Make sure that your straight edge is aligned with the saw blade so you don't end up breaking blades. Lastly, the thicker the material, use blades that have fewer teeth per inch or TPI. I am using a 7 TPI blade to cut anything over 1/2 inch, so far, it is working but slow cutting.

I am new to scroll saws so have to ask. Is it worth the $40 difference in price for the 3921 over the 3920 and why.

I can't speak for the 3921, but the 3920 is okay at best, it's actually nice if you use pinned end blades. However if you plan on using pinnless blades I would suggest a diffirent saw. Hope this helps

Have a new 3922 scroll saw. Upper and lower pinless blade holders wont pinch together to hold the blades. Wen are you going to back up your saw ?

You have to make sure they are the correct length and it does take some work getting them in properly. It too two people to load mine.

For a starter, this is easy to use. I would recommend changing the blade holder to the toolless version(which comes with it) and replacing the 4mm wing screws with 4mm bolts. this will require a 7MM socket to tighten, but it is well worth the modification. It provides a better grip for the pinless blades. Understand, this works very well. If you are having problems, look up Youtube video content "scroll saw" for tips and tricks. This saw is next to idiot-proof and very safe...even for children. Excellent tool.

Wish I could give my saw six stars rather than five. I love it! I've had a scroll saw in the past, but this one beats it hands-down. The very long arm allows me to work on rather large pieces. The air jet blows the sawdust out of the way so I can see my line. The light can be moved to whatever angle you need to see correctly. The guide adjusts high enough so that (with patience) you can cut pieces larger than a scroll saw should be able to. Haven't really had to use the adjustable angle for the table, but playing around I can see it is quite easy to set up.

I ordered this saw expecting a marginal performance due to the low cost. But this is an excellent scroll saw. I watched some online comments that were critical of the vibration. The vibration is not bad at all. Some reviews were critical of the blade chuck holding plain-end, pinless blades securely. I think that must have been an older model, because the chuck works perfectly - 100% secure. I read that some reviewers were critical of how difficult it is to change blades. I have no clue why anyone would find it difficult to change blades on this model saw. I wish my other woodworking saws were as easy to change blades. I do use premium blades in this saw and I think that's key to having a great experience. And I match the blade to the material I'm sawing. My woodworking shop has many saws, most are premium brands. I was a bit worried about the Wen brand being a "value saw" but hey, this is a good saw. It is a joy to use. It has not frustrated me once, and I've hammered it pretty hard. I'd buy this saw again in a heartbeat.
