Why is this not recommended for bathrooms? I would like to put it on clear shower doors.

I put the brown mosaic in both of my bathrooms and love it. It provides privacy and looks beautiful with the fun rainbow effect of light hitting if. When you get up very close you can see through to the neighbors house, but someone on the outside looking in cannot see.

(Imagination please) I’m trying to see if this would work to give the illusion of “ice” if put in a child’s wooden play fridge?

Can be used on "opaque" window? Bathroom window is smooth inside, bumpy outside, but at nite, not private enough. Can I add this for more privacy?

I think it depends on the pattern. I got the pattern that is tight squares, such as you see in the picture that looks like lots of bluish squares (they are not blue - they are thick and clear, a little bit raised). You can't see in or out with that on the window.
