Fritz Aquatics 80243 Reef Pro Mix Complete Marine Salt, 200 Gallon

This is my ultimate go-to salt. Corals, fish, and plants all love this. Keeps the system balanced. Has buffer mixed into it. Does not have excess calcium or other elements. This product is very well balanced. Great value for the money. Ease to use because of how fast it dissolves. Functions with all the equipment. Fast balance to the system. This is the only salt I use.

I was excited to try a very highly reviewed salt mix with my mixed reef. I was using regular Red Sea that I purchased pre mixed from the local fish store until I bought a rodi unit of my own. The salt arrived quickly and undamaged. It contained one large bag of salt as opposed to multiple smaller bags which I believe they do to make it easier to counteract product settling and becoming non homogenous. Fritz claims that they grind the particles to a uniform size so this is unnecessary, but I took the bag out of the box and rolled it around plenty just to be sure. The instructions said to mix 1/2 cup per gallon of rodi water for a 35ppt solution. I also warmed the water to between 70 and 75 degrees F before slowly adding the salt as the instructions indicated. After 20 minutes or so with a power head, it was perfectly clear! Now on to my tests... I measured the specific gravity and it was dead on (after a bit of confusion with a refractometer that needed calibrating! Be sure to do this often, as mine was way off and would have had me diluting and being ticked that the parameters were low like I'm guessing the lone one star reviewer might have). It mixed clear, 8.5 dkh, 440 cal, 1410 mag - perfect parameters for my tank. After two 20% water changes, all of my lps look awesome and have much beter polyp extension, zoas and sps look like they are liking the switch too. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality salt and it is amazing how close it keeps to 1.026 once mixed. Their tech support is 2nd to none! I have a 250 gallon tank plus 2 large sumps. All my corals, anemones, live rocks, stars and fish are thriving. Switched to this brand about 16 months ago, and what a difference!! I do a full 250-300 gallon water change, 8-10 gallons per day over 30 days. I make 135 gallons of heated pre mixed saltwater about 2 times per month. People come to see my tank all the time and take pics. I am very impressed with this salt.

Great salt at a great price. I was looking for a salt blend that was closer to natural sea water and this checked all the boxes. I switched from instant ocean to Fritz Pro and wont be going back. The batches are more consistent, pH, Alk, and Cal are very well balanced. I found instant ocean was way higher than I'd like in alkalinity and calcium while Fritz is perfect at 420 Calcium and DKh between 7.2-7.8.

Works good but the salt itself had inconsistent numbers.

I have my "mixing tank" plumbed into my system exactly like a tank. Pump pushes up, overflow runs down. For water changes, I turn off the return pump, empty it out, and refill with RO water and this. With a couple of old powerheads, it's crystal clear within 20 minutes. I do need to check the final value as it's a bit over or under, but not by much. Either add a bit more salt, or drain a bit and refill with plain water and it's good to go.

Switching from my old salt to this one was a great choice. I have had no issues with Chemical spikes. My levels have stayed on point during the switch. Follow the directions and you will have no precipitation. I mix by the 5 gallon bucket and it is clear in about 15 minutes. I drop in a heater after if clears and when it warms up it's ready to use. The tank looks better and the corals are looking really nice. Really extending and the colors have popped.

Have gone through 2 boxes of this salt now and without having to mix it up or roll it around this salt mix has been consistent from the first cup to the last cup - no issues...corals love it

The Salt mix itself was great, im just dissapointed the seller is got it priced at £74.99! for a single big bag normally you pay slightly more for the box divided into 4 × 50gal bags, if i didnt need it in a rush i would have sent it back.

It's a great neutral salt, which is not boosted with carbonate to raise KH. It has good trace elements, neutral ca/mag. I can do the boost myself if it needs. I use this salt since two years, and I never had happy corals like that before with fluval salt, seachem salt and aquaforest salt. It mixes really well and fast. Price is reasonable. Fritz is probably the biggest salt supplier for public aquariums in north america. It sounds something to me. I hope to stay with Fritz for years to come !

Miixes well coas and fush are happy never had an issue. Nor do i expect any from Fritz You won't be disappointed!!!!

This is my go to salt these days as it seems to be the best value for a complete salt mix. When you order these the box can get beat up a bit as the box is shipped as is. The last one I bought was damaged and had a small puncture in it but thankfully the bag was not pierced.
