It’s really good!!!
I got this case for my iPad 8th gen to use for school as well as keeping it as my drawing tablet. Things I like: 1. It’s very well built, it’s sturdy when using it as a makeshift laptop and the keys feel good when typing. 2. It’s heavy, but I like this aspect of it, it feels like good quality and I like the rubber/fabric ish texture it has. 3. I LOVE that’s it’s detachable, I can just pluck it off the magnetic keyboard case and just use it to draw. It’s also not hard to remove my iPad from the case like other brands of cases, very easy and snug when inserting it. 4. I love how you can securely close it with the magnetic flap, unlike others this one closes and stays closed, instead of flapping open. Things I don’t like: 1. Honestly the only problem I currently have with this case is the small Apple Pencil holder. I use a thicker cover for my Apple Pencil to help with the grip and thickness of it for my wrist. Now this isn’t a huge deal breaker but I was kinda looking forward to this function. So if you’re looking for a case that also holds your Apple Pencil, and really want that function, either don’t use a cover for the pencil, or get a different version of this cover. Again, not a dealbreaker for me.

Perfect keyboard with fantastic wrap-around protection that many other keyboards don’t have
I also own the Apple Magic Keyboard but prefer the Zagg keyboard for so many different reasons. The main thing I really didn’t like about the Apple keyboard is it didn’t provide wrap-around protection to my iPad. Unfortunately I dropped the Apple Keyboard (in the closed position with my iPad inside) a couple of times, and each time the iPad fell out or got damaged around its edges. On the other hand, this Zagg keyboard is PERFECT! It provides great wrap-around protection with a shock-absorbing rubber bumper. I also love that the keyboard and bumper are two separate pieces, allowing me to remove the iPad from the keyboard without having to remove it from the bumper. Other great things about the Zagg: • Keyboard feels good (9/10). For comparison, I would rate the Magic Keyboard as a 10/10. • Has hot keys that the Magic Keyboard doesn’t have. • I personally like that it has a separate battery and doesn’t cause parasitic drain on the iPad’s battery (with the Apple keyboard, my iPad seemed to run out of juice too quickly.) • Unlike the Apple keyboard, the Zagg has a built-in holder for the Apple pen! And when you close up the keyboard, it securely holds the pen in place so you don’t lose it. The holder is also positioned along the side of the iPad, allowing the pen to continue charging. (With the Apple keyboard, I frequently didn’t bring the pen with me for fear of losing it). • It can be paired with two different Bluetooth devices and quickly switched between the devices just by pressing an assigned hot key button. This is a FANTASTIC feature that more Bluetooth devices should incorporate (in fact, I would prefer if it had THREE hot keys to pair it with three different devices). I use the keyboard to switch between my iPad and iPhone. • The Apple keyboard has an advantage in terms of the joint connecting the keyboard to the iPad is really strong and stays in whatever position you place it. That’s not true of the Zagg, which has two different slots that the bottom of the iPad must be placed into in order to keep it open. But (and again, this is a GREAT design feature), the two slots have a very strong magnet so when you place the iPad into it, it essentially locks into place. I’ve never owned a Zagg product before but am really impressed by the quality and excellent design features of this keyboard.

Nice keyboard, just a bit heavy
After 2 weeks, I like this keyboard, solid feel, works great, the only issues are it's heavy and the iPad holder is very snug (I had a heck of a time getting the iPad into the wrap-around holder). When it's put together with the iPad Air 11" (the version I have) the weight is as much as many 13" laptops. I would give up some battery for lighter weight. That said, it's definitely solid, no flimsy feeling like some lighter laptops and the keyboard functions very nicely. One other issue, while not impossible, it's much easier to fully disconnect the keyboard if you need to use the iPad in the portrait position, as the weight of the keyboard makes using the iPad in portrait very difficult without laying it on the keyboard with the keys facing down. Once the keyboard is detached, which is easy to do, the cover does not work as a stand to hold the iPad, the structure/strength of the cover is all in the keyboard. While I do recommend this cover/keyboard, if weight is important, you may want to look at others.

Worth it!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing quality, easy to use, strong magnets & there’s no lag when using the keyboard. It’s very easy to set up and use I definitely recommend it. Great compatibility. The brightness is amazing and I like the color too.

Disappointed
I rarely write negative reviews, but I was so disappointed with this IPad keyboard I bought in July 2025. After a couple of months of gentle use, the left Shift key fell off the keyboard. Another two months later, two additional keys fell off the keyboard. I called Amazon and was told there was nothing they could do with this product as it already passed the return window. They provided me the contact page of the seller (zagg.com), however the website does not allow me to send any email message. While I clicked on the link to send a message it reported "You're not authorized to access this page". I tried to call the customer service number shown on their website but couldn't reach any person with 45 minutes holding so gave up. The product quality is in general poor. It's unacceptable to have a keyboard not even lasting over a few months with gentle use. There is no meaningful customer support either from Amazon or the seller. Very disappointed with this purchase.

The best iPad keyboard case for me and my teleprompter
I'm a video producer, and have been wanting to get an iPad Air that I could take out in the field (rather than the much more expensive MacBook Pro that I use to edit all my work). So I knew that I wanted a keyboard case that would allow me to use the iPad as a laptop. In addition, I was buying an iPad teleprompter (which doesn't include the iPad), so my new iPad would have to do double-duty on location and also serve as the source of the teleprompter text - meaning the keyboard case would have to be easily removable. So I searched and searched for removable iPad Air keyboard cases, but couldn't find one I liked that would still provide protection for my iPad when the keyboard is removed. Some folio style cases featured a removable keyboard, but then you've got a loose keyboard laying around, and the remaining iPad folio case would be kind of bulky for use with the teleprompter. Then I found this Zagg case. It is PERFECT for my needs. It's really like TWO cases - the keyboard folio, and the "rubberized polycarbonate" iPad case. The keyboard is integral to the folio case, so it feels sturdy and secure when I'm typing. The magnets that secure the iPad in the two inclined positions are strong and reliable - and when you separate the iPad from the keyboard folio (which is easy, just pull them apart), the iPad is still protected on the sides, corners and back (but not the front) by the rubberized case, which stays on the iPad all the time. That eases my mind when I'm using the iPad with the teleprompter. Is it a bit heavy, especially compared to the iPad "Air"? Sure, but that's no problem for my purpose; it's more important to be sturdy and rugged. AND it costs less than the Apple keyboard case. Win, win, win. Thank you, Zagg (and Amazon)!

Incredibly Intuitive - No need to relearn the keys on it
I’ve only just gotten this case, but after using it for about 4-5 hours I already love it. Typing is so easy because you don’t have to train yourself to learn where the keys are. It’s incredibly intuitive. Wherever you think the backspace key is, it’s there and it’s the same for pretty much all the other keys with the exception of the “special keys” where you usually have your F-keys. The Bluetooth connection is really good. After connecting it the first time, you don’t have to worry about reconnecting each time you reattach it to the keyboard. Literally the only thing that disappointed me was the fact that it’s a bit misleading in the picture. It looks like it’s a floating type case, but it’s not. It’s not like the $300 Apple Magic Keyboard that doesn’t have the iPad touch the keyboard and kind of just floats and lets you adjust it. There are two grooves that you can set it down on. Even though I was looking forward to the floating type of keyboard, the amount of money I’m saving and the great feel of the actual keyboard, makes up for it. I also really like that no matter what, whether it’s attached to the keyboard or not, it always has a case on whereas with the AMK it only has a case when attached. Similar to the AMK though, it attaches with a really strong magnet which is pretty cool. Overall, what you’re getting for the price is really worth it. LogiTech has a similar case, but it costs $226 and the only difference I can really see is the way it connects to the keyboard - smart connectivity and the trackpad. I actually thought I might miss the trackpad, but being able to switch through apps so seamlessly with the keyboard shortcuts makes me wonder if the extra cost for the trackpad is actually worth it because I don’t think I’d use it much. Overall, the way it connects is not a big deal though and since the iPad and keyboard use the same charger, it’s not like you have to bring a special one or anything. I’m extremely happy with my purchase thus far and was able to write 5 pages for an essay like nothing. Really starting to feel like with this case I’ll be replacing my MacBook Pro for lots of things. 10/10 would recommend - save yourself the money and get a great product that does the same thing.

Could not fit 13” iPad Air M3 into case
Bad experience. First of all, I received an item that had very obviously been returned. Secondly, my iPad Air M3. (2025) absolutely would not fit in this case. We tried everything to make it fit, but it was obvious that it was too short. The instructions say to insert the bottom of the iPad first, then the top. Inserting the bottom was tight, but worked, but there’s no way we could put the top in. Even if we reversed the procedure, no go. Who knows, maybe that’s why the other person returned it. The other side of things is that this seems to be a very well-made product with a clicky tactile keyboard – at least more so than you usually see on keyboard cases. I had a question when buying this that I could not find the answer to on Amazon and Amazon‘s AI assistant kept giving me contradictory answers so maybe this will help someone. Yes this case is powered by the USB from your iPad. There is a dongle built into the case. When you put your iPad into the case, (if in fact you can put it into the case) the dongle attached to the case fits into the USB port of the iPad. But the case provides you an extra USB port right alongside it. Yes, the case adds bulk, but I like that the keyboard can be detached and then the iPad still has a nice bumper on it that feels robust. I’m going to exchange it, hoping the one I received is defective. Also, Amazon shipped it USPS in the thinnest brown shipping bag I’ve ever seen. It ripped and came to me taped together, with the Zagg box squashed. The case didn’t seem to be damaged.
