The cover of the heating pad is soft and smooth to the touch. It has not needed to be washed yet, but that it is separate and washable is definitely a positive feature. The heating pad is very comfortable to use, as the way it is made helps keep the grains inside evenly distributed so there are no lumps and the warmth is evenly distributed. The size of the heating pad is good; it covers one's neck and mid-back at the same time. Due to the product's design it seems like it would work for other areas of the body very effectively, also. Overall, my recommendation would be positive. My mom used this heating pad and found it so comfortable she fell asleep the first time she tried it, so I would say that's two thumbs up from us!

To tell the truth my husband ordered this hot pad for me and after I read the reviews after he had ordered it I thought I would for sure not like it. Reviews said that it did not heat up nice and was filled with moisture. After receiving it I put it in the microwave about 8 times for 1 minute on each side kind of folded. Each time taking out after the 2 minutes and let lay on a towel and dry out and then continued for the 8 times doing the same thing with the hot pad. Now it will have just a tiny bit of moisture on it after 2 minutes (1 minute on each side) and it is pretty warm for about 15 minutes, so it does work pretty good on my back, shoulders or anywhere else I need to use it on my body. So with all that said it doesn’t work as good as my bean one at staying hot for a longer amount of time and not having moisture on my old one but it works pretty good for the price and the size is okay, not to small but could be bigger. I use it quite a bit for my painful body.

I'm giving it a 4 because only time will tell how durable and long lasting it is but apparently it comes with a warranty, hopefully I don't need to use that. So far, it stays warm long enough, the size is big enough to get all my trouble areas, I use it for my stomach and lower back. The fabric/material feels pretty sturdy I don't think it will fall apart anytime soon. I also like the little cover that comes with it. I read some reviews that comment on a smell/scent that comes from it except I don't mind it I actually kinda like it. Its like an earthy scent so I guess it depends on the person, it doesn't bother me at all. As far as the microwaving I was able to do over 2 minutes in 1 minute intervals after folding and flipping to opposite side (as per instructions). I think if you just follow the instructions it should be fine. It also comes with a chart on watts/time for proper usage, I liked that, I'm happy with it, hopefully it lasts.

This heating pad is the perfect little comfort fix. The size is ideal, the weight is soothing, and it heats up evenly in the microwave—no plugs, no cords, nothing to fuss with. I love that I can take it anywhere. This heating pad is nice and thick to retain the heat and stay on your body. I’ve used it on arms legs back and neck. I would highly recommend for muscle aches and pains for any part of your body. It is very durable and contours to your body.

Honestly works so good, i had one that was with dry corn that my grandma made from 30 years ago that works but my mother took those, so im glad i made rhis purchase because its perfect size. Will recommend to many others!

It's not really unscented. The scent may not be intentional, but it does have one. I like it. It reminds me of dried tarragon and tea bags. It has a soft cover and seems to be very well made. I got it for lower back pain. Therefore, I have to put it under my back. I find it to be too thick to lie on. I have also found that mine doesn't heat evenly, nor in the time suggested. The middle gets hot, but not the edges. I think I'm going to send it back and use a homemade heat pad made with uncooked white rice.

I really like this heating pad. I thought it did quite well on a trip where I didn't want to have to bring a big one that plugs in. This was more compact to travel with, and I was able to use the microwave at the places I stayed. I felt it held the heat long enough for what I needed.... I would recommend.
