SwitchBot Door Alarm Contact Sensor - Smart Home Security Wireless Window Alarm and Door Sensor, Add SwitchBot Hub to Make it Compatible with Alexa

I’ve been using the SwitchBot Contact Sensor for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed by how easy it was to set up and how well it works. I paired it with my SwitchBot Hub and it immediately started delivering real-time notifications whenever a door or window is opened. Setup took less than 5 minutes—just peel, stick, and pair. One thing I really like is the motion detection feature built into the sensor. It goes beyond just tracking open/close status and helps monitor movement in the area, making it doubly useful. Battery life looks great so far, and I love that I can check everything from my phone whether I’m home or away. If you’re looking to add an affordable and effective security boost to your smart home, this sensor is a no-brainer. It’s compact, accurate, and integrates smoothly with other SwitchBot gear. These lil fellers are FANTASTIC. Motion sensor + door state functionality in one box is great. Home Assistant integration is fast and easy. Latency is non-existent. Can't say enough good things.

I have this sensor mounted on an exterior door. Usually when the door is opened, I get a notification on my Android phone (Pixel 7) almost immediately (95% of the time). However there are times where notifications can take up to 10 minutes, and I'm not exactly sure why. This could be an issue with my phone and completely unrelated to this device - not sure. Othewise, as with other Switchbot products, it was easy to setup and install. Overall I'm pleased and would buy it again.

This is a great contact sensor. It is very easy to install and setup. I do have the SwitchBot Hub 2 (a hub is required (hub mini/hub 2) for a lot of the features to work) which detected the contact sensors right away. I installed them on my garage doors and side door of the garage in case I forget to close them. Also installed one in the utility room which has a string to pull in order to turn on/off the light, so I added a smart bulb and made an automation to turn on or off the light when the door is open or closed. It works instantly every time! If you use an automation and don't want to receive notifications each time the door opens or closes, you can turn them off in the app which I did for the one in the utility room. Instead of using the 3M double sided tape I used Command strips which makes it easier to remove the sensor when I will need to change the battery or want to use it at a different door or window. So far I have 5 contact sensors and all work great for me. Love them and the price is great! Definitely recommend this contact sensor.

Even though this smart contact/motion/light sensor is compatible with Alexa, the only sensor you would be able to utilize for your routines is the contact sensor (open/closed). The other features you only can create automations with the SwitchBot app. The sensor itself is very reliable and fast.

Earlier I had 3 separate devices tracking door /window open/close through contact sensor , light sensor and morning sensors. It's always been a hassle maintaining their batteries as they lapse at different times and integrating them is another challenge. Glad to find this 3 in 1 solution, that offers all 3 capabilities in one device and it's built in support for automation is a blessing. Instalation is easy, guided by in app step by step instructions. It has multiple options too handle different door types. I paired this with switchbot Button pusher to automatically turn lights on when we are home. It's integration when switchbot mini helps get notification when we are away. Overall highly recommend for anyone who is trying to implement non subscription based unified security solution.

This is a great little gadget from Switchbot. It is easy to install, and instantly detects a closed or open door. This works perfectly within the switchbot app and was very quickly recognized and set up. I installed this on my front door at the top, and it was incredibly easy. Just peel off the 3M tape, and stick it. and then it's installed. now i can use the contact sensor within the Alexa app using a routine to tie it into other home automation programs! Using this, it's pretty easy to program your lights/gadgets within your house to detect when you leave/enter your home and automatically greet you or turn your lights on! I can't wait to see the next set of Switchbot products!

I have a bunch of other motion sensors. A bunch of other buttons. And a bunch of other door sensors. And spent far more on flimsier plastic. Until I found this one. Oh boy was I surprised to find a door sensor, motion sensor and button all in one. And it works great! I didn't need another hub. That's totally optional if you want really easy internet access or additional automations. But if you do have the hub, motion or button controlled lights and plugs are neat. For the tinkerers, there are lots of passive BT options out there for support with third party automation software. It has worked really well with Home Assistant for me and I don't plan on buying any door sensors that support anything less than the SwitchBot Contact.

spend hours trying to connect it to Alexa or smart life app but it fails..its only connects to smartbot app and can't access it outside this app...after alot of search i find out you need to buy another device (hub) to be able to connect to third party assistant like Alexa. Seller should mention that on description. Usless. Im returning it back

Ho installato questi sensori SwitchBot e devo dire che mi hanno sorpreso in positivo. Non sono i classici sensori “aperto/chiuso”: fanno molto di più. Rilevano se una porta o finestra è aperta, ma anche movimento e luminosità. Questo apre la strada a un mondo di automazioni, soprattutto se collegati al loro Hub (nel mio caso integrati poi in Home Assistant tramite l’integrazione SwitchBot). Esempi pratici: Se il sensore rileva che qualcuno entra in casa e c’è buio → accende automaticamente le luci. Se esco e la porta si chiude → spegne elettrodomestici e lampade, senza dover toccare nulla. Se una finestra rimane aperta → spegne il purificatore d’aria in automatico. Notifiche push immediate sullo smartphone e possibilità di allarme vocale tramite Alexa. Il bello è che sono facilissimi da installare, senza attrezzi, e la batteria dura parecchio. Grazie alla compattezza puoi metterli davvero ovunque: porte, finestre, scatole di medicinali (per verificare se sono state aperte), persino la gabbietta del gatto (per sapere se il furbacchione ha deciso di evadere). In poche parole: ✅ Rilevano apertura/chiusura, movimento e luminosità ✅ Si integrano benissimo con Alexa e Home Assistant ✅ Infinità di automazioni possibili ✅ Facili da installare, nessun cavo, batteria longeva ✅ Notifiche immediate anche da remoto Un prodotto semplice ma geniale, che porta la domotica di casa a un livello superiore.
