Excellent quality Great sounds

It's a very light straight bow. It feels a little too bouncy, but otherwise it OK. No sure if it's really "pernambuco", for this price, I doubt it.

This is my first bow. I wanted it for sound design purposes, bowing metal rods etc. Someone who has more traditional needs for stringed instruments may have a different perspective, but for my needs, for ~$30, it seems to be good value. Beginners would likely also find this to be a good starter bow. The only negative is that it was packaged poorly. It was in a plastic sleeve, and tossed in a cardboard box with nothing to stop it bouncing around. Thankfully it arrived in one piece somehow.

It's not horsehair. I had one come loose and removed it. Burned an end there is no hair dwell, curls like a plastic with a knob/ round type burned end . Hair doesn't do any of that.

Does the job? We've had it for over a year and it's been working great

The bow is great quality and the weight is standard for all levels of violin players. As an advanced violinist..I prefer the carbon fiber to the wooden bows because with wood..getting the right weight is hit or miss..whereas with carbon fiber the weight is consistent. This particular bow meets those standards at a very good price since I do not re-hair the bow myself and thus replace the bow every 6 months or so. The hair quality is great. Very good value

Bow plays good

The bow sounds great! Yes, it needs rosin pretty much, but that is normal for new bows.

Having recently acquired an electric black violin, I needed to replace the bow as it was a) brown and b) not very good! I read about the lack of secure packing but ordered anyway as this was the only bow at this price which was definitely black. The packing was not great but the bow arrived ok and I am more than happy with it. The weighting works for me and I love it so much, I am thinking of getting one for my electric cello, which is also black!

I was looking for a replacement violin bow, and came across this one which ticked all the boxes: wood made, with natural hair, full-size and new. I tried it after a wrist operation and although it first seemed longer and heavier than the one I had, in the end it turned out to be an excellent choice. I am not a professional player so this might not be everyone’s favourite but it is a good bow in the hands of an advanced yet occasional player.
