How does the steam escape when using as microwave spatter cover?

Hello, thank you for your questions, this silicone cover is very good, so you can preserve food. You can release steam when you need to open the silicone cover when you use the microwave.

I can't get these to adhere. What am I doing wrong?

Once a pot is not boiling or after pouring a mug of hot tea/cider place the silicone cover on top and give gentle push in center and it will seal. I can even pick up my mugs from center spot after adherence. Suction!
