Works amazingly, despite it's small size.
It was surprisingly a lot smaller than I expected (because why would I bother reading the description enough to see how small it is) - it's about the size of a small coffee cup. But it is amazingly productive. I put just a piece of mango peel in it and a day later it was full of fruit flies. I still have a few of them flying around so every time I see them, I drop a bit of peel or fruit in it and set it near where I saw them. Next day, it's full. And then I put a drop of dish soap in it, run hot water into it so they all die, dump it and dry it and reset it for the next round. But it's more than just fruit flies as I just discovered, there were SIX house flies caught in it since this morning, and as I watched it, another one fought it's way in. It's not designed for house flies but it certainly will catch them.Every late spring, my neighborhood undergoes a war with fruit flies, and this trap is my best weapon against them.

Does not work
They do not work. I have put several fruits ice cream, and other things. Have not caught one fruit fly. I was eating dinner with one of them on the table near me, while eating they were flying all around, none went into the trap. waste of money.

This trap works great but only in combo with the sticky trap
This trap caught 10 fruit flies overnight in apple cider vinegar (we added one drop of dish soap so the flies will drown easier). However, fruit flies tend walk on the rim of the trap instead of entering the trap as mentioned in other reviews. So we added the sticky butterfly trap which is designed for fungus gnats (very similar to fruit flies but common on houseplants) and the combination of the two is awesome. I added a 2nd butterfly as the trap was working so good. Fruit flies still drown in the vinegar but the trap now attracts fruit flies to the sticky butterfly. This combo is way more effective than either trap alone. I will also leave this review on the butterfly traps we purchased.

Just add water.
I have issues with fruit flies around my skinny pig's cage. Not sure if it's because of her urine or the fresh fruits and veggies she gets daily but they get out of control. I've tried all of the things recommended on the internet: apple cider vinegar in a bowl with a cover with holes in it, without a cover,, regular vinegar, fly strips, bug zippers, I even fumigated the entire room with flying bug spray, nothing worked. I saw this contraption on Amazon and thought, "why not?" I've tried everything else so why not give it one more try? When it arrived, I was very skeptical. It's a cheap little plastic box with a plastic funnel-like piece that sits inside. I could see how it could keep the flies in but the question was, would they go in it? I read the instructions and it recommends using a piece of banana as bait, so I did just that. The next day, nothing was in the trap. Not quite ready to give up, I removed the lid, chopped up the banana a little more and added a small amount of water to make a mushy substance on the bottom of the trap. I put it back by my skinny pig's cage and left it alone. I checked it about 6 hours later and I felt like I hit the lotto!! Well not quite, but you get the idea. I've never in my life been so happy about seeing bugs! I've been using this the same way for a couple weeks now and the flies are almost completely gone. It's a little expensive for the size of the product and the materials used to make it but it definitely works.

Extremely Small. Felt like a WISH deal
I was expecting something much larger for 14.95.Probably cost 15-20 cents to make.

Didn’t work for me
The “Ultimate” fruit fly trap is a joke. This thing is only about 3 inches tall and only trapped four fruit flies over 48 hours. One already escaped 😂 so only three. The yellow sticky paper that came as an added “bonus” or a joke as well. Fruit flies walked all over it and didn’t get stuck. It’s sticky to touch but not for them. The home made version with a clear plastic cup and a ripped up ziploc bag with a hair tie has done so much better and has caught 30+Don’t buy this junk

It does work
Well, this does work.A little patience plus a bit of small slice of banana and a piece of banana peel and I caught me some fruit flies. I released them outside (because that's me). Like others have said they do tend to lounge about the rim for a while but if you leave it be they eventually make their way down the funnel and get at the fruit.I did have a failed attempt with grapes and then kind of washed it out and forgot about it for a few days, but when I tried it again it worked a charm. Maybe the new plastic smell needed to get washed away and/or dissipate. It may seem a little pricey but when you take into account that it is reusable then it doesn't seem so bad. And the bait shouldn't count much towards the cost since you probably have fruit if you need a fruit fly trap.

Pésimo producto
En las características indica que sirve para atrapar moscas, sin embargo, no caben dentro de la trampa. Que bueno que lo devolví y gracias al eficiente proceso de devolución en un par de días me reembolsaron la cantidad que pague
