I was looking for healthier snack options for my husband and thought I'd give these a try. They're pricey, but the variety pack seemed to have some flavors that I thought he might like, and if I can get him away from Doritos, I feel like I've accomplished something worthwhile. :) These arrived quickly, so I was able to get them in his snack cabinet immediately. YAY! I was intrigued, so I decided to sample a bag of the cheddar flavor. The bags are pretty thick, so I needed to get some scissors to open them (not a bad thing, since the product was super fresh, but you definitely need a way to open these if you're snacking on the go). My first bite - they're popped, so vaguely similar to popcorn without the pesky remnants of corn kernels. They're a combination of crunchy when you bite time, but fluffy on the inside. That's kind of pleasant and makes for a satisfying snack. The cheddar flavor is nice, and actually, I liked all of the flavors that came in the pack. Perhaps there's a bit of an adjustment since I've never had popped water lily seeds before, or maybe this is just the flavor of the popped water lily seeds, but there's an odd sort of burned taste that's the water lily seed itself (and not at all the cheddar seasoning powder on them). It almost made me decide not to like them, but I have eaten a bag or two since and I'm still deciding if it's a deal breaker, or if it's tolerable enough to eat these and potentially purchase more. My husband hasn't eaten them all yet, so that may be the only answer that I need. Alternately, I may try some from a different maker and see if they have that same odd after taste, or if this is something unique to this brand. As far as snack options go, these do seem to be a bit healthier than chips with the same kind of satisfying crunchy/salty/savory texture and taste to quell cravings, it's just the odd slightly burned after taste that lingers a bit that I'm uncertain of.

I have come to adore water lily seeds, even more than popcorn. This is a wonderful brand. I was surprised to see how yummy the cheese flavor was. For gluten free eaters, water lily seeds are a welcome new category. My only quibble is that the size of the packages was on the small side for me.

2 of the flavors taste a bit strange. The other 2 are nice. You be the judge. Good luck.

Love these treats but I missed that these are the small bags. At ~ $3 each they become less appealing. You can get the large bag for $4 other places…

Some flavors were good and others meh. Has a higher than average nutritional value. Unfortunately, prices are high because it’s currently being imported (not grown locally).
