Are these flimsy like the brass screens or fairly rigid?

These screens are plenty sturdy and are as thick as any other good screen. Definitely thicker than some cheap brass screens from a local head shop. They are made of stainless steel, so they should not melt under the regular operating temperatures of a BIC lighter. Melting point of stainless is about 1400°C. That being said, no point in torching the bowl for more than a few seconds anyway. But don't get so wrapped up about inhaling metal since these screens will hold up just fine.

What is the type of the steel? 304 stainles steel type or what?

Most stainless screen is 304 , the thickness is another matter.

Flimsy and firm are relative terms but I'm gonna say these are firm enough for most uses. I wanted them for my box vaporizer and I was also concerned about their firmness. They worked just fine and I went ahead and ordered a second box of 200.
