Yonkey Monkey 10-Pack of 500 Grams Yarn - 70% Rayon derived from Bamboo, 30% Cotton - Imported - Blue 9056

First, the bad: With my first order, I didn’t get all 10 skeins—only 9. I’m wondering if these are bunched by weight for a 500 g total. I don’t have a scale, so I can’t be sure. Also, this definitely isn’t DK; it’s as thin as embroidery floss (probably light fingering weight). However, holding the thread double yields satisfactory results. And there’s definitely enough yarn to do this (2000+ yards) and still complete a project. Also, there’s not much in the way of stitch definition like you would get with an acrylic fiber (see photo; should be shells/chevron pattern). Now the great: I was afraid to buy this because of the negative reviews. But I have to say, I’ve had no issues with knots or splitting. However, to avoid this, I would use a duller needle set. This is amazingly soft yarn! I bought this to make a blanket for my son with sensory issues and he LOVES it; just absolutely soft! In fact, it’s almost a little too slippery so I recommend using bamboo a hook/needles. And you get SO much for the price! In addition, I love the colors (I bought deep blue and white gray). The blue is the same color as those cheap row counters you can buy (see pic) and the gray is almost a lilac. I can’t wait to complete my projects so I can wear them; bamboo is so great for this warmer weather!

Arrived quickly. Very nice sock yarn. The description says DK weight. This is lighter weight than DK. It is very soft. This T top was crocheted with one strand of white and one strand of blue together. It was machine washed and dried with store bought cotton T shirts. It did not shrink at all. It is very soft and stretchy. I crocheted my 23 year old son a pair of socks with one strand of this blue. He prefers them to any socks he has bought in stores. He says the socks are very soft, breathable, fit in his shoes well, are warm, and stay up on his ankles. I can't get a picture because he seems to weat them a lot! I'm jealous..I think I'll make myself a pair:)

I was so excited to get these so I could start the blanket I had planned. These are tiny little skeins of cotton thread for making doilies and such. Definitely not what I thought I was getting. If I'd wanted cotton thread, I could have gotten much bigger skeins for a lot less.

I like knitting and I needed a project that would take long time - I like knitting when watching movies so it is perfect. But if someone is looking for a thick yarn, chose something else, this is very thin.

I’m using this to knit a shawl and am loving it so far. It is so smooth and soft. It doesn’t have much stretch, so you need to choose your project and stitch carefully, but the end result will be wonderful.
