Q: Will this hide the smell of pot plants growing in a closet?

Yes and no. They will mask the smell of you place it in the closet, but they will also destroy the aroma of your pot plants and alter the taste to a not so pleasant one. I tried this outside of the tent or grow space and it was not strong enough to mask it. I personally would not use this brand again.

Q: Will this work to remove the smell of dead rats?

I don’t know if it will remove the odor of dead rats, but it worked on the odor of a dead squirrel in one of our out buildings.

Q: Will this work on formaldehyde on new furniture?

Yes! Our Fresh Wave Gels will remove formaldehyde odors in the air. Each 7 oz. Gel covers 200 sq. ft. of space so make sure to place accordingly. Formaldehyde odors take time to dissipate and as long as the source is off-gassing, continuous use will be necessary. Keep in mind, the key to removing toxins from the air is to create fresh air flow and allow any household goods to off-gas out of the home or in a well-ventilated room.

Q: Would this eliminate the odor from the trash compactor room adjacent to my apartment?

It would certainly help. It has a strong fragrance, but I think you should get the larger size. I use them to eliminate smoke odor and they are very effective.
