Not a stand alone. Changes the game nicely, more than likely you will have to use the new mechanics to win on these boards.

A great addition to the base game
If you liked the base game, but want to shake up the gameplay a bit, this is a great way. The sunken room mechanic is really interesting, and changes strategy. We like switching back and forth to keep things new.
