The best box cutter
Ive tried other types and styles over many years in the trade, but have come back to, and settled on this utility knife. It’s easy to use, nothing fancy or gimmicky, reliable and inexpensive. It needs no improvements.

Great knife
Great knife once you get it opened and the blade set.

Simply the best
Have used many utility knives in my day, and I still find myself always coming back to old faithful. If you want something well built to do the job it’s intended for, then look no further. Is it super compact, no, but I have big pockets. Does it cost a fortune? Also no. Solid, functions every time, not so expensive you’re mad if it disappears on the job site. Buy a multi-pack and have spares for the same price as a generic folding set-up.

Work tool
Ordered for my husband- he opens boxes all day long. He says it works fine and no complaints. Would recommend.

They made it CHEAPER using cheap steel for blade carriage
This is the "Classic" Stanley knife but unfortunately the steel that they now use for the blade carriage is not the same as a knife made in years past. The outer case is exactly the same but internally they made a change to save what...20 cents per knife.... that will cause the carriage tab to break off from metal fatigue prematurely. The picture shows a blade carriage from an older knife which is made of "spring steel", a special type of steel that is made to bend and spring back (bottom one in pic). The new knives are made with the lowest grade stamped steel that lacks the same bending properties needed for the knife tab to last (top one in pic). This may sound like a nitpick but it's just another example of the degradation of quality for corporate profit. Give me a knife that lasts for $15. than one that will break for $6. any day of the week. So sick of this trend. MADE IN USA (with parts from China that were to absolute lowest bidder)

2 out of 3 were fine
I’ve been using this for boxes etc for a while; it’s easier than getting out a sharp knife, and you can just flip & dispose of the blades when they get dull. I lost mine so I had to order more. One out of this pack of three arrived without the slider piece that holds the blade, so it’s unusable. I can still use the blades as replacement for the other two, though.
