Not dumb. Funny but, not dumb. Look for the seam around the side. Check for tape. Cut with razor knife around the tape or seams. They act as if it's a $1,000 item the way they seal it. It's been a while since I bought this. I think I gave you the right info. Good luck.

I have a Galaxy Note 9 and Otter Box Defender. The protective glass don’t affect the installation. No modifications needed

Yes fits well with any case, just press down on the protecter on all edges just in case it lifted up when putting on the case

Is the Note 10 and the Note 10 plus screen protector tempered glass compatible with each other?

No not compatible. The phones are two different sizes, you can't use screen protector for Note 10 Plus on a Note 10.
