This streaming device is a great alternative to using Amazon Fire streaming devices and Nvidia Shield streamers. The operating system is the same as the Shield and it works very smoothly. The storage expandability give it a huge edge over the Amazon devices and the price is much better than Nvidia Shield. The remote work very well after you set it up for the TV. I highly recommend this device.

Android TV boxes have become quite sophisticated. And competition between boxes is now quite fierce. Selecting the KM2 over other boxes was based on user reviews on Amazon as well as other platforms. The KM2 came highly suggested. Installing the box was relatively easy with one exception. This updated unit comes with a hybrid remote control. It has both Bluetooth and IR allowing it to control the box and your TV. Setting up the box went smoothly. Setting up the remote control the TV didn't happen at all. An error message appeared on the screen after each attempt. Searching the error message revealed may others had the same issue, so I left it alone for the time being. Getting apps onto the box was simple using Google Play. Side loading other apps was also relatively easy with Downloader. All in all the box worked well. Picture quality is excellent on all streaming services. Sound was equally good. What was not good was the lack of features on the remote control. No pause / play button was a key issue. That was remedied by installing Button Mapper from the play store. After unplugging and re-plugging the box to force an update, the remote control issue was fixed. The box recognized my TV and allowed the set up to continue. No further problems have occurred. Games are an issue due to the operating system not being compatible with many if not most games in the play store, which is a bummer since that is one of several reasons I purchased the box in the first place. It's a good TV box and should last a few years.

I have the fire tv, fire stick 4k, wanted something with expandable hard drive and faster. Read a review and watched a video on it and seemed I would buy it and try it. I stream everything and it meets my needs, I have Amazon, Netflix and YouTube. Everything works great without any issues. Buy it, you won't be disappointed

The Mecool KM2 was very easy to install out of the box but that is where everything started a downhill slide. The main screen looked good and operated as it should. My trouble started with trying to get my Anker wireless bluetooth keyboard to pair. No luck, the mecool never could find it. It was in pairing mode. The next problem is with the remote trying to use the Downloader app from the Appstore. With no keyboard I had to use the remote to enter the type. Sometimes it would enter it and other times not. Skipped all over the place. After too many tries and countless wrong typed words I finally gave up and may be sending it back to Amazon for a refund. Another problem is trying to find how to change anything to make it run better. Could also not get the remote to turn my TV on and off. Back to the Firestick 4K I guess. I just received my replacement unit from Amazon and it seems that I had a bad unit and remote. The replacement eliminated all the problems I had with the first unit. The remote is simply easy to use when typing and I hope this will prompt people that this is actually a very good 4K box which is expandable very easily when it works the way it should. At this time I would recommend this Mecool KM2 to anyone looking for an Android box for their TV.

Great picture, better than NVIDIA at a lower price. Only cons is that you do need to add either internal SD card, or external drive. Not enough internal space. Also, only 10/100 ethernet speed, would like to see them add the 10/1000, then they would fly off the shelf! Easy to setup, small, does not appear to get hot if left on. Overall great product.

This works great. But my fire stick can manage both tv and receiver. This does not do the same function, it's one or the other. But is is expandable memory and produces great picture.
