Everything about this beard conditioner is A+ and I highly recommend it. It smells great and leaves my beard soft feeling great.

Beard was a mess. This has helped tame the beast, and it smells great and not too overpowering.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: There are two smells for beard products: wood and bourbon. But what if you are a bearded man, like myself, who doesn't want to smell like a woodshop class, or a woodshop teacher? And what if you also have a very coarse beard? Well, have I got good news for you! Bearded men rejoice! Your savior is here, and its name is Bevel! In my job, if I were to touch other men's hair or beards, I would be in HR. But according to my hairstylist, who touches a lot of men's hair and beards (professionally only, of course), the hair on my head is like most men's beard, and my beard is like a wire brush. For the aforementioned reason, I'm just going to take her word. So I use beard products on my hair and beard both. I use a beard wash and softener, a rinse out conditioner, and then a leave in conditioner, all just so I don't scrape the paint off my walls, or shred my pillow at night with my facial hair. I use cremo beard wash and leave in conditioner, and I've been using barrel and oak rinse out conditioner, and they've done pretty well for me. But like I said above, I'm tired of those wood smells. So I gave this a try. I've been at it for about two weeks and it does a pretty good job. I have to be honest: It's a little thinner than my previous rinse out conditioner, so it doesn't soften it quite as much. But it's very close. My entire beard and hair regimen also straightens the hair of my beard, which looks like a wild and out-of-control weed once it get past about 12mm if I don't use any product. That is consistent when using this conditioner. There is some dispute regarding the smell. I like it. I can see where other reviewers have said it smells like menthol. But to me that's just the closest thing I can come up with to one of the "notes" (I think that's what smell connoisseurs call parts of a smell.). It has a much more complex smell than a single scent. If it smelled like menthol, I wouldn't like it. There's just an essence of something similar, in my opinion, mixed in with the other smells. The price is also right on this product for me. I've spent way more and gotten way less for it. If I can find an unscented barrel and oak conditioner, I will probably switch back to that when I am done with this. But if not, I will sacrifice a little bit of softness for the improved smell. But if your beard couldn't scrape rust off a bumper like mine, this is probably more than adequate to achieve maximum softness. AND NOT SMELL LIKE WOOD!
