How do I know which size to get?

The Nipple shield sizing will depend on the size of the infant's mouth. Due to this, the size of the Contact Nipple Shield you'll need may vary greatly from the breast shield size you currently use. Would this work if I’m still in the colostrum stage?

I believe it will not work then. a nurse or someone told me they don't work until your milk actually comes in. I had my 2nd daughter on 11/18 and i have "shallow" nipples, a lactation consultant told me, and so we tried and tried to get my daughter to nurse from me (while i also pumped after each nursing session, every 3 hours around the clock) and she had a really hard time latching to me. Because it was my 2nd child and i had such an ample supply with my first daughter (whom I successfully breastfed til 14 months using a nipple shield the entire time) and i was pumping every 3 hours this time around as well my milk came in within 48 hours while i was still at the hospital. I brought one with me (knowing i may have the same issues this time around again) and started using it and it was the solution for us. She is now 6 weeks old and we are still using it and breastfeeding great.

Does the expiration date refer to the sterilization?
