Good value
One purchase lasts me a long time. I got this because my betta was struggling with fin rot and I read a lot of people suggesting almond leaves. It did not disappoint. It’s nice as decoration but I also believe it’s helping my fish and the water quality!

They really are a miracle! :0
Bought these hoping they would help regrow the fins of my betta I picked up from a petstore who looked like needed some help and I was so surprised at how fast it worked for me!With a clean tank and great water conditions, this helped my fish regrow his fins by a cm in just a month! You can see the visible tail recovery in the photos :} I’m so proud of him, and he seems to be much happier. Just be watchful of your water conditions to ensure that this product will work as efficiently as possible and it will be worth the wait. I still have so much of the product left, in the future, so its a great investment and definitely worth the price. If you had doubts before, this is your sign! Get it, it works :)

Not for axolotls
I got these for my Axolotl tank because I thought they were larger than they turned out. Ultimately though, they're a great product from what I've seen. They did tint the water a rosy hue, but not mad about it. The reason I'd not recommend them for an Axolotl tank is because they're not large enough to hide under. And because if you have a chiller pump in the tank, they will 100% get pulled on it while they're in the settling process. If you used them for Betas like the package says they're intended for then I'd suspect you'd be happy. But I won't knock the product just because I misused them a bit haha.

No desired effects + April 2024 Review
10/10/2023: I bought this product "100pc Catappa IAL Leaves" on September 18, 2023. Safe to say I've used this product (multiple leaves) over the course of a month for both my tanks. It does work as hides for my ghost shrimp and they love to graze on it, BUT- it does NOT have the desired effects! No tannins! I tried making a tannin extract with multiple leaves in a small glass container with BOILING water, as I've done before with larger leaves that came from Vietnam (home country). Wanna know the results? No tannins! The Vietnamese leaves were also catappa leaves, and they leaked tannins, tons of them! I boiled both types of leaves to rid of pests, but I am absolutely FLOORED with the SunGrow product! I love the tannin effect, this product has not been the greatest. Next time anyone I know goes to Vietnam, I'll be sure to ask them to take more catappa leaves instead of buying from here again.4/26/2024: hello again. I've had these ins forage for a while and decided to bring them out again, to try it again to see if time had affected the product(s). The first time I used these was the review above. It never leaked significant amounts of tannins, or any at all. My previous time was boiling (again), but I had incorporated boiling with a pot for several minutes with a large amount of water. It took a long time for the leaves to boil down and change color, but when it did, it looked like the color of the leaves from Vietnam. I added more water (not necessary) and waited more, the water had become tannic after a long time of waiting! After a while, I was able to pour it into my tank (carefully and after it cooled!!!!) and the tank had changed very nicely! This time, today, I'm just putting it into a small pot of water with some leaves. I can already smell the tea lol, and the leaves' color has changed drastically, though the water isn't stained yet. The method I'm using now is a DIY Blackwater extract, aka tannin extract. My goal is to achieve the same effects as the first successful time. lol I can already see the tannins coming out.Uh, what I wanted to say was, if it doesn't seem fresh enough or "work" for you, please consider making a backwater/tannin extract with these leaves. They will break down in the boiling water eventually, causing tannins to leak. You might have to wait a long time though. I'm already about 5-15minutes into boiling these "stale" ones I got the first time around.

Small leaves, add tannins
Good quality. Leaves are on the smaller side. Added tannins for fish health and water quality. The fish and shrimp eat them

Must have for betta tank
These leaves are a must have for betta tanks!! My bettas love them. I have three fish tanks and I use them for my fish all over health, and improve the water quality. They’re simple to use. I have a smaller tank so I just put it 1 or 1 1/2 small leave.

Took my fish a month to forgive me……
I gave it a three because maybe it works in a bigger environment. It didn’t change anything but the water color I wasn’t a fan at all. I really wanted to be a fan. It made my betta fish cranky. In fact .It took ol redeye a month to forgive me. He is still a little squirrely ….and he’s a fish.

My boys love it
I have three bettas (all separated don’t worry) and my boys seem happier and healthier with the leaves. I don’t notice any water color change. But my water parameters have totally improved! They aren’t ugly. The fish don’t mind them. And they last awhile. Pretty good value
