Will this work with my single pod mixpresso machine?

It only works with Keurig coffee maker, mine is 450 model. The description says reusable K-Cup Pod Filters.

Will this work with the k10 unit? it does not punch a hole in the top middle but rather on the side of the top.

My K10 punches the hole in the center on top. Try using a pre-filled pod and see where it actually punches the hole.

Does this work with k500

As far as I can tell, yes. To be sure, ask the seller...

Can you use this just in a cup of hot water to steep?

Are you asking about the baskets or the scoop? The scoop has a big hole in the top to pour the coffee grounds into the basket, so it would not be suitable for steeping. The basket also has a hole in the top that allows the water from the coffee machine to get to the coffee grounds but I suppose you COULD steep coffee in a mug of hot water if you hold it in the mug without water going into the hole in the top but it would be kind of awkward.
