You have to put the sticker first, then the sunscreen, wait 30 seconds, rub it and then go out in the sun and wait about a minute so they can turn clear. I tried these stickers with 6 different kind of sunscreens and this is what happened:Photo 1: you can see the stickers with no sunscreen. They are bright purple.Photo 2: I used one Japanese mineral sunscreen on the right and a mixed Korean D’alba sunscreen on the left. Both turned clear and as expected the mineral was thick and left a white cast. A few hours later they both were still clear. Note: I wasn’t on the beach but driving and place them on my left arm where the sun goes through the window.Photo 3: how they looked after 6 hours running errands.Photo 4: I used two different Korean stick sunscreens. Neither of them went as clear as the regular sunscreens. I wait about 3 minutes and they turned kind of clear but not as fast as the others.Photo 5: I used powder sunscreen on top of the stick on the right and sunscreen cushion on the left. The left went clear right away and the right went a little clearer but not completely.I’m very pleased that I could see the effectiveness of the products I buy.

These stayed on really well despite being sweaty, swimming in the ocean, and reapplying sunscreen. The instructions were easy to follow: they turn clear after you sunscreen them and then activate them with a minute of sunlight. Definitely helped us to remember to reapply in a timely manner—way earlier than I would have thought to on my own and we did not get sunburnt that day!

I was excited to find these stickers after having surgery for melanoma this year. Make sure to read the directions completely and carefully before use. They can be tricky to use if the directions aren’t followed exactly. The sticker didn’t work as well on my 11 year old as it did on my adult friend because of the multiple step directions. They are on the expensive side and for how they worked it would be helpful to have a better price point. You may go through quite a few with little ones and it would get expensive to keep buying these.

I bought these for our vacation. I thought it would nice to have something tell when it's time to apply. I sunburn easily and always tried to be careful when out in the sun. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this product to help you know when to apply sunscreen. The first day of vacation my husbands sticker would not stay on because of sweat. It was pretty hot that day. Mine turned white within ten minutes of putting it on. We tried again the second day and the same thing happened again. We followed the directions on the package and it still did not work well. Hopefully we can find something better next time.

I had high hopes for this product but I don't understand fully how it should work. You open the package and the stickers are already purple even though they in a sealed package where UV rays can't hit it. Then regardless of how I put it on it NEVER goes clear. Not sure how something plastic is supposed to absorb something that is liquid?!If I'm doing something wrong then IMBTA but put it on in sun, or inside, then cover with sunscreen and it stays purple.**UPDATE**Tried again with a different sunblock and the stickers went clear. So the issue is this product doesn't work with all sunblock. It appears the Zinc based one I was using doesn't work but a spray on one that doesn't use a lot of Zinc did. Updated this review but leaving at 3 stars as I think this should be stated in the product info.

I am a redhead with super fair and sensitive skin, I burn insanely easily. I am also horrible at remembering to put sunscreen on because of my ADHD. I got these in hopes that seeing the pretty purple would remind me to reapply more often and it does! The adhesive on the dot doesn't irritate my sensitive skin even when on for 12+ hours (because ADHD).This product is pretty effective, I have had significantly fewer burns since using it. It is an essential for any redhead or someone with fair skin!!

Took my two little ghostly white babies to Florida and used these! Worked great! I don’t think they got any burns the entire time we were there 🥰
