This OBD2 scanner works great and has a quality build. Great quality, great price
I use this obd2 scanner all the time for diagnosis on my two vehicles. I recently had to diagnose a SRS light on the dash of my Ford Escape. Turned out to be a seatbelt pretensioner which I never would have thought unless I had a tool that can scan the restraint control module. Having a tool that can go beyond the scope of a basic scantool is awesome considering the cost of this tool is very reasonable. I also used it on my Nissan and it works great on that vehicle as well. It's easy to use and the data is clear and easy to understand. With live data and a helpful library that has TSB for pretty much any vehicle you can think of along with a DTC repair guide. These tools can help you promptly diagnose with pinpoint accuracy with confidence. Has been compatible with every car I have connected to and can do a lot of tricks for a budget scanner. It has a solid build as well so it will survive a shop environment. The materials feel sturdy and add a little weight to it. Feels solid in your hands and can take dings bumps. I'm overall satisfied and also glad I saved some money from not going to the mechanic for every little thing. Hope this review helps.

This is a valuable tool with today's increasingly computerized cars.
I've been really happy with this device. Originally acquired so I could do an ABS repair on my Dodge 1500. Now working on a friends Mini and can read all the codes. The software is compatible with most foreign and domestic and updates are easily done and download fairly quickly. WIFI is built in and connect to a local network or your phone. The system generates and emails are report that can be printed or shared. The user interface is simple and intuitive. Repair helps are supposedly coming and I am excited to have those suggestions. A tough rubberized case protects the unit from "shop handling" making it durable. The OBDII connector is detachable for convenient storage. The internal battery charges using a USB-C connector. It may charge from the vehicle as well, I haven't paid attention to that. The carrying case is a practical extra for those of us not using it daily, but I could easily see a small shop using this all the time. Routines to reset throttle movement, TPMS, Battery programming are all included in the software.

Great device for the DIY pro or the new to DIY
This is a great tool to have if, like me, you are beginning to more DIY or a DIY superman. Setup is easy to perform, you connect to your wifi which makes updating software very easy. Menus and such are intuitive to access and get the info you need. Once you have a code you can look up meaning and what to do on the device itself. I even discovered some things on my truck that I would want taken care of even though no error code was thrown. This device provides that much information. Great to use to decide if I feel comfortable tackling a fix or let a more experienced person do it for me.

Great for the price. Always has updates for free
Works pretty good. Has SOME things you can change on the fly which was idle which which a god send because I have a cammed 04 GTO, so I was able to turn the idle up when the AC kicked on because it was dying before. Does a lot of cool stuff, wished it had a Bluetooth module so you don’t have to sit in the car while messing with it but I’m happy regardless.

All-in-One Diagnostic Tool That Goes Beyond Basic Scanning. An exception Value. Easy to use.
I’ve always gotten by with inexpensive OBD2 scanners that offered only basic capabilities, but I recently needed a more advanced scanning tool to service the rear brakes on my Porsche vehicle — which required putting the vehicle into repair mode. My son, a professional mechanic for a major auto brand, strongly recommended the TOPDON ArtiDiag 500, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The ArtiDiag 500 is packed with features including live data and diagnostics for systems like Oil, SAS, Throttle, TPMS, BMS, EPB Reset, Engine, ABS, SRS, and Transmission. It even includes AutoVIN, a check engine code reader, and battery testing. The large touchscreen makes it easy to read and navigate, and the interface is intuitive even for non-professionals such as myself. Best of all, it works with nearly every major auto brand and includes lifetime free Wi-Fi updates. For a scanner in this price range, it’s a fantastic investment and offers exceptional value for the functionality it provides. Highly recommended!

Worked great for an ABS issue.
Very Nice scanner, easy to update and log in. No fees. The less expensive scanners will only work for engine codes. If you have an ABS/SRS/Tranny issue you need this one. Excellent for my abs issue. Scanner showed all 4 wheel sensor speeds at same time and allowed me to identify the wheel causing issue. Some simple fixes require a scanner to reset. This one does all modules. Cost of the scanner+Parts, when I can do the fix myself was less than 1 trip to the dealer. Instructions are poor but scanner is mostly intuitive. very happy

Great product. Thanks!!!!
I’m very pleased with the TOPDON AD500 OBD2 Scanner. It's incredibly easy to use, even if you’re not a professional mechanic. The interface is straightforward, and the menu layout makes it simple to navigate through all the diagnostic features. One of the best things about this scanner is the automatic updates via Wi-Fi. No need to mess with SD cards or cables, just connect to Wi-Fi and the device keeps itself up to date with the latest features and vehicle coverage. It’s a huge time saver. I’ve used it to perform oil resets, throttle and TPMS functions, and even battery (BMS) and brake (EPB) resets. It reads codes for the engine, ABS, SRS, and transmission quickly and accurately. The AutoVIN feature also makes it super convenient to identify the car instantly. Overall, this is a powerful tool for the price. Highly recommend it to DIYers and professionals alike!

I've had this scanner for four months now and it has been extremely useful. I've used it to check and reset my TPMS system. And just recently I had a transmission code that my cheap ODBII scanner that I keep in the car wouldn't read. When I got home I pulled out the Topdon, hooked it up and ran a system scan. It detected the P0847, directed me to the 3'rd clutch pressure switch, and allowed me to clear the code. I appreciate how it has its own internal battery so I can disconnect it from the car and it will retain and display info. It connects seamlessly to my home wifi and downloads necessary updates for itself and the automakers I select. This was an excellent investment that is miles away from cheap code readers! Very Happy!

Does it read Specific Manufacturer codes like GM that other readers don't? YES! My 2020 Buick is displaying an engine light but my old reader couldn't read the "GM specific code" to diagnose the issue, so I purchased this TOPDON AD500. The device arrived the next day, which was pretty sweet, I did the login setup (create account, confirm information, etc..etc) then hooked it up to wireless internet, Installed the updates with the handy touch screen, downloaded all the FORD, GM, DODGE, JEEP, CHEVROLET updates available since I don't own any other types of vehicles. FYI, this thing can read all codes from almost every manufactured car sold in Canada or so it seems. Plugged it into my 2020 Buick Encore, hit the "diagnose" button on the screen, BAM, Code P146D:00 EVAP Surge Pump code. I'm so friggin stoked this thing works so well. Turns out the code is related to a recall so it's going into GM in 2 days to get the Recall work done. Well worth the $184.00 sale price. That, and it looks like Free updates for life, or at least until the year 2124 when all the updates seem to expire. If you want a code reader that seems like it can read almost every manufacturers car codes...seems to be really good quality, and doesn't just read the "generic codes", this seems to be a good choice. Even had some updates to get European models and out of country models as well, like Rolls Royce and Lamborghini's ....one day. If you have $200 to spend on a code reader that is up to date for 2025, has a bunch of options and can read codes to pretty much whatever you plug it in to...This was a good choice for me.

This Topdon Artidiag500 Scanner is decent. I find it irritating that I have to charge the battery every time I use it though. Also, have not been able to use the SAS reset on some vehicles which is kind of the whole reason I bough it. Pros: I like the print a report option.

I bought this to diagnose an ABS and Stabilitrak problem with my 2009 GMC Envoy. It enables me to reset both lights and also see the wheel speed signal which my Torque Pro app (and sub) didn't do. Saved me a visit to the local shop to reset the codes and to fix my ABS system. Fairly easy to set up but needs an e-mail address to validate the purchase and to update the software for specific vehicles. So far it does exactly what I need it for. Most cheaper scanners can't access the BCM but this does as well as other parameters. Now I'll look at fuel trims etc and see how the old girl is holding up. It does what it says. Other reviews seem to say a wifi connection is needed to operate. It appears to me that wifi is needed to register the product and download updates for each type of vehicle you want to scan. After that, wifi isn't needed to scan the vehicle even multiple times. You don't need a connection to scan a vehicle just plug it into the ODBII port and identify the vehicle. Getting to some displays is kind of confusing but practice would make it easier.
