I found this quite simple to install. Our hot tub sits on a wood deck platform so I was able to attach the pivot blocks on the deck. Once I ran the bars through the holes and evened the middle bar I proceeded to attach all pieces without screwing them in. Start with the top bar, make sure the center connector is covered on both sides of the screw holes. DRILL the holes with a small bit, use one screw on one side to hold the bar, repeat for the other side and then finish with the rest of screws. If you follow that pattern so that the screws go in without stripping and keeps everything lined up, then it’s simple. It works well and is simple. but will note how it is over time. I didn’t have to drill any holes as I used the screws of the tub cabinet for the chain.

A very nice well made cover lift that bolts to your deck you only need around a foot behind the tub maybe a little more for it to work. Super easy to put together.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this in May. It’s very fragile and lightweight. All I did was lifted to put the spa cover down and it broke off in half. I have to get another one and I’m scared to buy the same one because it’s very thin. I’m looking for a better one.

Light weight and works but had to be reengineered with bigger 316 grade stainless steel screws and fabric straps due to climate and rust issues. Seems a little flimsy but works as designed for LIGHT weight thin hot tub covers. The heavy duty covers will probably shorten the life of this unit. Add eventual water logging to the cover and it may bend/break the lift.

Spa covers may not be all that heavy, but they are large and troublesome for one person to move. Stowing the cover can subject it to being dragged across the ground, deck or concrete which can cause damage. This lift system allows one person to remove and stow with easy, literally a one hand operation. Saves wear and tear on the cover and keeps it out of the way while the tub is in use. Installation is not hard, took maybe 45 minutes to do it right.

I was very disappointed to find that this did not lift my hot tub cover unless I had someone help lift it on the other side; which defeated the whole purpose of having the lift support. When I would use it on my own, one of the sides would struggle and I found the other day that it had completely bent and I was unable to bend it back to its original shape. I bought this hoping this cheaper option would work but boy did it backfire. I had to buy a better quality cover lift and now I am left with some expensive useless scrap tubing. DO NOT BUY!
