Neat little ratchet set.
I bought this set to do a specific job on a computer case that has limited access to a few screws without removing the entire motherboard. It Worked great! As noted by others, the ratcheting mechanisms were a bit dry when I first used them but a drop of 3 in 1 oil fixed that easily. When I was visiting my Father recently he bought a new grill. There were a few places on the grill that they expected you to use this crappy little pressed steel wrench to install some fasteners. I had this wrench in my bag and it made that process SO much easier. (I mean, we could have gone out to the garage to get another wrench, but it was snowing so yeah, still calling this a win.) I looked at several different sets and this one had the best blend of bits and sockets I figured I'd actually use. I don't recommend using this for breaking loose stuck fasteners, it warns you right on the box that it is not intended for this and I can see why. This is a precision tool, if you need to bash on something, get something sturdier. The one real downside I can note is the carry case. The clear plastic lid doesn't latch in tightly and the "belt clip" is a bit of a joke. I simply use a large rubber band from some broccoli to keep the case shut in my backpack. I do think they could have spent a bit more effort making the lid sturdier. (The hinges are also cheap and I predict that dropping this one time will break them.) All that said, the actual tool itself makes up for the cheapness of the packaging. I would recommend this to someone who needs a light duty bit ratchet which will fit into tight spaces with ease. I would NOT recommend this to someone who likes to hit ratchets with hammers, you'll just break it.

Quality tool set!
Although one would think based on the cost of this GEARWRENCH set the quality would be compromised. Just the opposite! I literally use this daily and under pretty harsh conditions. It has performed beyond what I initially expected. The key feature that I want to talk about is how compact it is. The "micro" ratcheting is by far another key feature with this tool. It allows you to get into very tight spaces and with the micro ratcheting, complete loosening or tightening whatever it is you're working on. The selection of TORX bits is what I use most and the quality of the bits are trued and tested. I've dropped the carrying case 500x! The only thing I would recommend is using a rubber band around the case to keep it shut. I'm buying another one as a gift for a friend! UPDATE 3/10/2024 I've now purchased 5 of the Gearwrench sets! Since my original post, I use these several times a week. The mechanical aspects are perfect! The only downside to this is the plastic case isn't the quality needed for keeping everything organized. The plastic case will eventually break then that becomes a bit of a problem searching for the correct size. I've contacted Gearwrench with this problem but they haven't done anything to upgrade the case. So be sure to be careful and use a velcro strap to keep the lid in place as that breaks first.

As an industrial electrician: the most useful tool in my bag
I'm an industrial electrician, working in stone crushing plants. While it is not my most-used tool, this is by far the most useful and versatile tool in my bag. This small set allows me to carry my most commonly used sockets in a case that would literally fit in my pocket. In my field, all the sockets here are about the only ones I need for my job. I also carry both a 1/4" square and hex extension, a deep 10MM, and a 5MM (which even fits in the case under the ratchet, there's a small void underneath where the ratchet sits). With these, I can confidently walk up a 200ft conveyor belt knowing that I have basically all the sockets, bits, and extensions I would need to perform 99% of the jobs I do. If you're an industrial electrician, specifically in the stone, sand, and gravel field, I would HIGHLY recommend this set. Unfortunately, after about 5 months of use, the 1/4" side of the ratchet began to slip on a few teeth. While it is still useable, I don't want to put a lot of pressure on the ratchet at this point. For $22 a set, I'll definitely be buying a replacement. However, I do find it weird that the 1/4" side failed first, since I definitely use the 5/16" side with more force and more frequency. All-in-all, for the price you pay for this thing, it's a great tool. Even if I only get 5 months out of it (and it may just be a defect), for $22, that's a small price to pay for such a versatile tool.

Great set if you get one where the ratchet works
Gearwrench is a division of the Apex Tool Group (US headquartered) and typically makes quality tools that don't break the budget. Unfortunately, like some others here, I also had the experience of a misassembled ratchet (and couldn't insert the bits) the first time I purchased this item. However, because of Amazon's return policy I immediately exchanged it as defective and the next set was perfect. This set is made in Taiwan for Apex. It has a lifetime warranty. The tool itself is considered to be used for precision work and the warranty will be voided if abused against frozen bolts/screws. The ratchet seems to be robust so far. The larger end (5/16" bit / 1/4" driver) has 72 teeth and the smaller end (1/4" bit) has 60 teeth. Both of these are plenty of teeth to be able to ratchet in tight quarters. The bits/adapter stay in place with a press fit that is pretty good. The 6-point sockets are attached via a 1/4" adapter which allows the sockets to be flush with the ratchet - again allowing for tight spaces. The sockets are: 5 SAE (9/16 to 5/16 in 1/16" increments) and 5 metric (14, 13, 12, 10, 8mm). The bits are: 6 torx (T50, T45, T40, T30, T25, T20), 7 hex (6/16 to 2/16 in 1/16 increments and 5/32 and 3/32), 3 Phillips (PH3, PH2, PH1), 5 slotted (3/8, 5/8, 9/32, 7/32, 5/32) and 2 Robertson (square) (S-3, S-2). The larger bits are for the 5/8" end of the ratchet. Sizes are clearly stamped on both the sockets and the bits. The bits I've used so far fit the heads quite well. I also have no complaint about the quality of the sockets. The 1/4" bits will fit standard 1/4" driver holes as they are smooth and don't have a ball detent. The 5/16" adapter for the sockets has a ball detent on the end that inserts into the socket (it's smooth on the side that inserts into the ratchet). Nothing in this set is magnetic though the bit steel will be magnetized in the presence of a magnet. The base of the case (the red part in the pictures) is pretty robust. There are convenient numbers on the bottoms of the socket wells telling you what socket should be in each well. The tools are not a press fit into the case; they are loose. This makes insertion and extraction of the tools easy. It also means the cover better work. And the cover doesn't have a particularly strong latch. I would not trust turning the case over for I would expect the heavy contents to open the latch under gravity and spill out. I put a hairband around my set to make sure it's secure. There is also a plastic clip piece that can be inserted into the back of the base (either in portrait or landscape orientation) allowing for belt hanging. I would not trust the clip, however, since (a) it's just thin plastic and looks like it will break under load and (b) the cover might not stay latched as I mentioned. It's really a pretty decent microdriver set, especially if you can catch it on sale.

Works in places other tools can't reach!
I was helping a neighbor with a Nissan Rogue HVAC issue (cold air on driver's side). Found it was the small heat/cool blend motor mounted above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. Nissan was smart enough to put the small DC motor in horizontally so it could be replaced without taking out the dash but they were clever enough to not put an access hole in the gas pedal bracket that would allow access to the screws holding the black air vent tube that has to be removed to get the blend motor out. There is only about 1 1/2" clearance from the bottom to get the phillips head screw out. This precision kit has a 6 degree ratchet action AND the knurled wheel gives enough leverage to remove hardware once its loose. Nice tool set, includes both commonly used SAE and Metric sockets and a full collection of 1/4" and 5/16" bits (straight, phillips, Torx, square.) Made the job very easy and saved the neighbor the cost of a trip to the dealer. Highly recommended; wish I had gotten this set sooner.

Very nice, especially if you can get it on sale!
Excellent quality tools in a good quality case. Would be nice if the case latched more securely but it’s not bad. Ratchets move nicely and the tools work together well. I had a different micro ratchet like this years ago that got stolen. Needed one for some work in tight quarters replacing a temp blend door motor on our 2015 Ford Edge. There was maybe 1.5” of space to fit this in between the motor and the gas pedal lever among other things. This made it a 15-20 minute contortionist activity instead of a 2 hour contortionist job taking loose a bunch of stuff in the way. While others like it would have also worked, I only used the Phillips bit and this has a bunch of other options. Well worth what I paid, on sale!

GearWrench MicrDrive Set is so handy I needed another
The Gearwrench MicroDriver set is a VERY handy set of tools. I liked it so much I just received a second set so I can have one for my box at home and another for the truck. The wrench itself is 5 1/8" (13.3cm) long and has reversible ratcheting 1/4" and 5/16" 12pt box ends with thumbwheels at opposite ends. The 5/16" end is 72 tooth and the 1/4" is 60 tooth. The box describes the MicroDriver as a "precision tool and is not intended to free frozen fasteners", so I wouldn't put a lot of elbow grease into breaking loose a rusty bolt or whatnot, but so far for me it has been perfectly capable of breaking loose all of the screws and small nuts I've used it for. The 1/4" end accepts standard 1/4" screwdriver bits. Eighteen 1/4" bits are included: Six SAE Allens (3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16), Three Phillips (#1, 2, 3), Two Square (S2, S3), Three Slotted (5/32, 7/32, 9/32), and Four Torx (T20, T25, T30, T40). The 5/16" end accepts larger hand-impact-driver-sized 5/16" bits. Five 5/16" bits are included: One Allen (3/8), Two Torx (T45, T50), and Two Slotted (5/16, 3/8). The 5/16 end also accepts the included 1/4dr socket adapter for use with the included Five 6pt Metric sockets (8,10, 12, 13, 14mm) and Five 6pt SAE sockets (5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16). The bits fit snug and bottom out flush with the thumbwheel on the backside. It sometimes takes a little effort to remove them, especially with the smaller bits, bit that's good imho. They are not likely to slip out unintentionally even if the wrench is dropped. The case keeps everything compact and organized. The red bottom seems pretty rugged, and the clear top has held up so far for me but seems likely it would break under much of an impact or if dropped. Stored in a recess under the wrench is a belt clip which can be fastened to the back, though I'm not sure how advisable it would be to carry it that way. While I was able to cautiously turn the case upside down without the lid popping open and all the pieces stayed in place the latch doesn't exactly instill in me the kind of confidence I would need before I trusted doing much of anything with this set hanging on my belt. The only real con I can think of other than the clear lid which if it were up to me I'd have traded for a top made of the same material as the bottom with a sturdier designed hinge and latch, is that both wrenches seemed a bit starved for lubrication when I first got them. After working in a few drops of SuperLube Oil the wrenches seem much smoother. I've found this set to be an incredible value. Sure, I wish it was made in the USA instead of Taiwan and I'd have gladly paid a little more if it was, but for the asking price of less than a Jackson when I bought mine I have to consider it one of the better tool purchases I've ever made. I'm planning on picking up another set or two to give away as gifts.

Bad plastic case.
Nice little set, strong and reliable in small tight places. The plastic case is garbage. it needs to be in a zip up case or some sort of nonbreakable carrying case.
