I received my new Concert Ukulele in the mail yesterday and was able to play it and inspect the accessories that came with it for the past two days. I must say, I am very impressed with this entire package. I was initially drawn to this instrument on Amazon due to the five star rating out of about 216 reviews. You don't see that very often on Amazon since there is usually a fair share of disgruntled people or those who did not take the time to learn about the product. I spent a lot of research time on each possible Ukulele purchase before deciding on this one. Firstly, the Ukulele itself met my expectations. My expectations were very high after reading the many reviews. It's a very beautiful looking instrument and the sound is terrific. Like many players, I will probably strum with my fingers but since I also play acoustic and electric guitars, I'm no stranger to the pick. The pick comes in handy when I want to project the sound of the instrument when I'm in a noisier environment. But for the most part finger strumming usually suffices. I found that the instrument stays in tune pretty well already. I attribute this to the enclosed tuning pegs. I think they are much more accurate than the exposed gear tuning pegs that some ukuleles have. The strap is very nice and the gig bag is adequate for protection from scratches. The tuner is of very good quality. I think some reviewers misunderstood the tuner which I found to work perfectly. Unlike some other tuners, you have to select the instrument you intend on tuning with this tuner. I think some people missed that. It wasn't clear to me at first but after reviewing the instructions, I discovered that the tuner is very adaptable for a variety of instruments such as Ukulele, guitar, bass and violin. You just need to select the instrument setting of the instrument you intend to tune on the tuner. Otherwise, it appears that the tuner does not work if set on the wrong setting for that instrument. You just have to toggle through each instrument setting using the one power button. Find your specific instrument from the list at the bottom portion of the tuner screen and that's it. In my case it will most always stay on Uc, which is the setting for this concert Ukulele. Overall, I am very happy with my Ukulele choice. I'm also impressed with the personal touch so often missing in the market place. I received an email from the company shortly after my order to inform me that they intend to make sure I am happy with my purchase.This is an exceptional, quality instrument that includes the right accessories at an unbeatable price.

I am echoing many other people in expressing my appreciation for this fine instrument and it's surrounding accessories. I took this instrument out of its very secure packaging and was amazed. It far surpassed my expectations at this price range. It has closed Gotoh style tuners and an arched back for better sound projection. The finish is beautiful. The tone is beautiful. Ukuleles characteristically have to be tuned and retuned for the first week due to the strings stretching. Joseph Cheung wisely spent a bit more money to equip this instrument with not only Aquila strings but Aquila Super Nylagut strings to make that adjustment more rapid.These strings are formulated to not stretch as much as older models of string. I got my ukulele the evening of Friday, March 24 and tuned it with the accompanying high quality tuner. It actually settled down rather quickly. Little adjustment was needed after the initial tuning and this is the evening of Sunday, March 26, and it has required only minor adjustments. Due to the fact that ukuleles use nylon strings, they go out of tune more frequently than instruments that use steel strings, hence many ukulele players leave a tuner clipped to the headstock. (Do not put steel string on a uke: they put too much stress for the bridge to withstand, as ukuleles don't use a tailpiece which is a sturdier fixture to attach strings to.) The tuner included with this is quite excellent and easy to read, with a display that glows green for each string as it reaches optimal tuning. The craftsmanship is excellent. For example, I happen to own another basic make of concert ukulele at the same price point as this one. It happens to have fret wire that slightly sticks over the side of the fret-board creating a somewhat rough edge: the Lohanu's fret wires are carefully beveled at the edge of the fret-board and are totally smooth when you run your fingers along them, making handling the neck more comfortable for a child's delicate hands. The tone is absolutely wonderful. I believe, when comparing it to the other competitor's instrument, that the arched back has increased the projection and sustain. you can strum both instruments simultaneously and the Lohanu can still be heard several seconds later, while the other instrument had gone quiet! Additionally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the very nice strap and installed strap buttons on this instrument, which few ukes come with. This goes a long way in making the instrument more playable----a beginner has more on their mind learning chords, music theory and strumming and doesn't need to add worry about holding onto the instrument! If all these other reviews and the above don't convince you that this instrument was astonishingly good, perhaps this will: after several hours of living with the Lohanu Concert Ukulele, I ordered the Lohanu Soprano to use at my job during lunch and before work to get in extra practice time! It is now on it's way to me and I will be more than happy to share my reaction to the Soprano as well! You will not make a mistake buying this and the high quality of this instrument at this price point may well make the difference between someone sticking with the instrument or giving it up. He and his staff are very much concerned about consumer reaction to their merchandise and an included message from him states that if anything is amiss, to please notify him, and the problem will be rectified as soon as possible.

Ein Meisterinstrument aus edelsten Hölzern, mit Perlmutteinlagen und 20 Schichten feinst poliertem Schellack darf man für den Preis ja wohl nicht erwarten, aber es ist ein solide verarbeitetes, schnörkelloses und absolut brauchbares Instrument, mit ebenso brauchbarem Zubehör, auf dem zu spielen einfach Spaß macht. Wem das genügt, ist hier nicht falsch. Nachtrag: Ich hab Sattel und Steg noch mal für eine optimale Saitenlage bearbeitet und wie erwartet tut sich eine noch wesentlich bessere Spielbarkeit auf. Macht jetzt doppelt Spaß. Die Melodieläufe gelingen angenehm flüssig und auch die Akkorde flutschen viel leichter aus den Fingern. Ohne Schnarren selbstverständlich. Bei Lauteninstrumenten der mittleren und niederen Preisklasse sind Stege und Sättel normal immer quasi als Rohlinge installiert und nicht angepasst. Das ist völlig normal, denn irgendwo muss der günstige Preis ja auch erspart werden. U.a. halt bei der Einrichtung der Instrumente.

Five stars is not enough! We need a "constellation" category for those vendors who go beyond the norm for service and product! :). For the record, I have no affiliation or connection with this company other than as a satisfied customer. We received our new concert-sized ukulele bundle from Lohanu a few days ago and wow, it's terrific! It came quickly and was well packaged. It was double boxed and came by Canada Post to the door. A huge wad of brown paper surrounded the inner box. Inside that inner box was the black gig bag and the uke itself was wrapped snugly in foam wrap inside the gig bag. It would take a disaster to damage it in transit wrapped like that. It also appears all the wrapping material is recyclable which is a plus. Even before it came, Joseph, the owner of the company, was in touch by email to be sure any questions were answered and make a personal connection with his customers. This is rare to the point of being a unique experience! Their customer service is the best I have experienced and the lifetime warranty? Well, who hears of that these days? Who heard of that ever?? It was the deciding factor for me to buy this kit rather than any other. Definitely buy with confidence I would say. They mean it when they say they want you to be completely happy with your purchase and will go to great lengths for that to happen. Victor of Lohanu went the extra mile for us to make sure it was a perfect consumer experience. First: about the accessories: the gig bag is nice and sturdy. It's very sleek and fits snugly with a moderate amount of padding. It couldn't protect your uke from someone who accidentally sits on it but for normal travel or storage it is excellent. Nice Lohanu logo on the front with a thin outer zip compartment. Big enough for a set of extra strings (supplied!) and some picks. There is a trick to getting the picks out of the little pick holder but with a little patience you will get it figured out. They will stay in there safely until you remove them that's for sure ;) The uke strap is nicer than the picture would imply. It's sort of a twill band. There is a subtle impressed (or debossed) Lohanu logo on one end. The strap pins are perfectly placed. Not many ukes come with them standard so that's a super nice bonus. The clip-on tuner is terrific! It is branded Lohanu and is supplied with a standard easy-to-replace round battery. It takes only seconds to tune the uke perfectly. How I wish they had these years ago! As to the ukulele itself (the reason you are reading this review) -- beautiful sound and holds its tuning longer than was implied. Every stringed instrument needs time to settle and needs extra tuning at first. With the clip-on tuner, that is a matter of seconds. So convenient and easy. It is a pretty thing too with the light striped ABS binding and the warm mahogany veneer. The name is impressed into the peghead rather than being a decal or sticker which gives it a higher-end look. We are beginners so cannot speak to how it sounds or feels when played by an expert but to our amateur ears it is a warm, sweet-sounding instrument (did I mention the lifetime warranty?!) what more can you possibly ask? and at a sensible price point as well. Completely satisfied here! If you are on the fence, come over to the Lohanu side! :) Incidentally Lohanu is a Canadian company and that makes a difference to us; whenever possible we try to support Canadian entrepreneurs!

Value for money and a really good sound especially the more you play it 🤗 My first ukelele was a good purchase.
