Yes, that's what I used them on, an old 2x5 10 speed. Actually these will work on anything.

will it fit 1" handlebars

They have a good amount of adjustment for the diameter, but I have not specifically measured. I would be very surprised if they did not.

What does friction mean as it pertains to these shifter? Do they click or simoly move a stay in place?

They do not click. They have a smooth tange, friction of the mechanism holds the cable and gear derailer positions. I put these on an old bike to ride around in town. Work great.

Does the SunRace SLM10 friction shifter set come with cables and Housing?

Yes. It does come with both cables and housings however, it does not come with the crimp-on ends that keep the cable from fraying. I went to a local bicycle shop and they just gave me a couple, no charge. For a cheap shifter, they work pretty well. We will see how long they hold up.
