Nice little digital display clock!
We bought this Sharp digital clock to replace an older version that finally fizzled out. It's a pretty basic clock - tells time and has a couple of alarm options - but it definitely fits our need. Remember the old days when you had a digital time display on the front of a cable TV box in your living room/bedroom? When we "cut the cable cord" a few years ago we found ourselves in a bit of withdrawal over not having that time display. Sure, you can pick up your phone to check the time (or check a smart watch, etc.), but just having the constant display was something we'd really become accustomed to. Our solution was to buy a couple of these small digital clocks and place them where the cable boxes used to sit. Problem solved! Glance at the entertainment center, see the time, easy peasy! The display is large enough to read from across the room, but not so big/bright that it's a distraction from sleeping. This clock has a battery backup option, which is probably a nice feature if you're using the alarm function, but we just plug it in and didn't install batteries. Definitely recommend!

Excellent, but Scary
I bought this clock to remind my cat and I of when she should be fed, but honestly we both thought that the alarm sound was totally frightening. If you are a heavy sleeper or enjoy loud noises, this is the clock for you. It is easy to program and after being plugged in for a couple of months it has only drifted by about three minutes.

Good alarm, not fully battery operated though
It’s a good old working digital alarm clock. Only pet peeve I have is that it’s not fully battery operated, it does use batteries but only to save the time and alarms one has set while it is plugged in. I’m not too familiar on how digital alarm clocks worked when they were used frequently, but still it was a mild inconvenience.

Simple alarm clock
It's an alarm clock, what more can you ask for? It keeps time, it goes off when you set it. I wouldn't say that it goes from "quiet" to loud, but the beeps do get progressively faster the longer it goes off so it's sort of a similar effect. One beep is definitely enough to wake me up, but I guess if you're a heavy sleeper it might take more than that. Nice big snooze button, so very easy to quiet it, and then you just flip the switch to turn it off. You can set two different alarms, which is nice. It also has battery backup, so you won't miss your alarm if you lose power over night, which is always nice. It's small, fits nicely on my cluttered nightstand (lol), and the red light isn't too bright at night to be disruptive. On the whole, it's a simple little clock that does what it's supposed to do, and that's all I wanted. If you're in the market for a bare bones simple alarm clock, this will work for you!

Good, basic bedside clock
I purchased both a red and a green along with several other clocks to compare. These clocks are good, basic clocks at a good price point. (I consider them an excellent price point when on sale). I'm not using them as an alarm clock but I purchased to evaluate as a bookshelf clock. The red clock is a good, basic clock. There really isn't anything to say about it, it meets all the expectations. Not too bright, not too dim. Does what is expected with no frills. The green clock is actually my favorite of all the clocks I purchased. It has the older green LED color tone, which is more on the yellow side, which I like. The LEDs are on the dim side, and there is some shading in the segments. It is not readable in direct sunlight, is okay in the day, but very good at night. As someone who likes a dark bedroom the dimmer green LEDs on this clock are nice. The green variation didn't work out in the livingroom bookshelf case due to the dimness in direct sunlight, but as a bedroom clock I think it's excellent. These are on the lighter side, I was worried they'd be pulled around by their cord but that only seems to be an issue on high-gloss surfaces. Also the PM indicator is on the lower right, not the upper left like other clocks. Not a major issue, but one that might be annoying if you're used to the alarm indicator being there. It is on the smaller side, good for a bedside table but a bit small for across the room reads.I did not test the alarm/snooze features.

Surprisingly ... lower quality compared to previous purchase of same model!
My old Sharp alarm clock died (after many years), so I replaced it with what *should* be the identical model. However, this one is operating so-so already, so I am not sure how long it will last. The slide switch to turn the alarm on does not always set the alarm on, so I have to slide it more than once. The display does not switch from the current time to the alarm time quickly enough either. It is inexpensive, so I was not expecting much per se, but the reduced quality from the same purchase years ago, is irritating. Please note that this alarm clock does not have a volume control, so the initial beeps (fewer than before too?) will change to a loud continuous tone that could be annoying to some people. I usually activate the sleep function, or turn it off, well before that stage, so am not bothered as much by this.
