Easy to Use and Works with Rotary Phones
Worked right out of the box with an old rotary phone. Allows me to dial from the phone and it even rings the phone when I get a call.

The easiest way to use a real, old-fashioned phone, without a lot of technical hassle
About a year ago, I decided I was sick of cell phones and wanted to be able to talk on a "real, old-fashioned" phone. At first I bought a MagicJack and plugged it into my computer, which worked fine with an 2002 SW Bell phone I bought on Ebay. However, when I decided to switch to a 1978 Princess phone (not the one in the picture, which I have since traded for the yellow, 2003 Crosley Princes repro), I found that the phone emitted a high-pitched whine when hooked up to the MagicJack. Since I had really fallen in love with the idea of a Princess phone, I began to search for a MagicJack alternative. After considering a variety of options, I decided that since, for practical reasons, I can't really ditch my cell phone entirely, this XLink BT2 might fit the bill. And it does! So easy to set up: just plug in the XLink to a power supply, plug the phone into the XLink, and push one of the buttons to pair it (via Bluetooth) with my mobile phone. In fact, it is paired with two different phones. It worked great with my original Princess phone and now works great with my Crosley Princess reproduction. When my cell phone and I are out and about, (out of Bluetooth range) my "real" phone doesn't ring, so it's not a bother to others in the house.Sound is very good, and I can use it to answer any calls that come in on my cell phone, including those that ring my MagicJack android app and my Google Voice app -- so it's like having an entire switchboard attached to my little Princess.I wish I'd done this a year ago.

Amazing!
I wanted a rotary phone for nostalgia, but I don't have a landline. I found this item and decided to give it a try. It installs easily and works well. You can connect two mobile phones to it via Bluetooth. When my mobile phone is called, it rings with the classic ring. When my spouse's phone is called, it gives a slightly, yet discernibly different ring. It's interesting that I am able to dial out using the rotary phone. Sometimes I have to reboot the device, or reconnect to it, but that is not often. When I cannot connect to it, I receive pop-up on my phone that says "Cannot connect to XLink Gateway". That's when I either reconnect to it via Bluetooth or reboot the device. I liked it so much, I bought another.

Almost perfect But **Now Updated**
UPDATE TO UPDATE*****Now besides dropping Bluetooth connection on some calls there is a massive static attack while using home wired phone....could this be a bad unit?*** UPDATE ***So after about 3 weeks of flawless performance the unit is now dropping Bluetooth almost every day and sometimes twice a day. The unit is plugged into the same outlet with the same cords and in the same location never moved. Problem is addressed by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in which is a real hassle. Not to mention the undependable feeling factor.I so wanted this to work.If I find a resolution I will updateOriginal postingEverything woks as advertised and was easily installed. I only have one mini gripe...no ability to call out on either line using home phones. Right now I can answer either line but calling out from the home phone is restricted to the first installed (paired) phone. Clarity is good and no funky background sounds.

Super easy to set up and works just like it's advertised to perform.
Super easy to set up. Just press one button and pair it with a cell phone. My old rotary phone works just like it did in 1970. Pick up the receiver and hear a dial tone. Dials out and receives calls just like it is designed to do. It automatically reconnects to my cell phone when I pull in the driveway. I'm not sure of the max range, but it connects from my bedroom, through the walls of my home, and another 30 feet out to my car. Sound quality is just as good as your cell phone sound quality. My clarity and quality of the sound received and transmitted is perfect. With this model you can link up to two different cell phones via Bluetooth, so if either receives a call the old rotary phone can be used. I love the nostalgia. I'm thinking of getting one for my car to impress my friends lol.

Works great and easy to use!
Works great and super practical. I bought this because I kept calling my wife on her cell at home and most the time it wasn't on her and on silent. This way the phone rings audibly and she answers more often. Easy to set up and use. And it makes us feel like we're living in the 90's again, so also some fun novelty.
