2 pack Weck 743 mold jars!!
I LOVEEEE my Weck jars, perfect for sourdough started. The lid quality is really good haven’t had any issues with them and it seems to be leak proof. It is dishwasher safe and is very easy to clean. Fits a lot of stuff in it, it is fairly roomy for whatever you’re needing it for! I also like the overall look of them. I would say if you need a good jar to store anything but the Weck jars. I am planning to get more due to how much I love them! You can stack them but I keep my lid loose so I don’t think you should unless your lid is fit tightly. if you’re thinking about it, just buy them!!

Best jars
These are great for sourdough starters, the straight sides make it SUPER easy to scrape with a spatula, I love that the seals aren’t required

Perfect for Sourdough Starter
Absolutely perfect! I am starting my sourdough bread adventure and after watching many videos, this was the most recommended jar. I am very glad that I purchased two, works perfect for transferring a small amount of the starter to a new jar and being able to discard the rest. Clean the first jar and it's ready for the next day's feeding. The glass is nice and thick, I am not worried about dropping it in the sink during cleaning. And since the starter needs air, I use it without the rubber circular band.

Perfect for My Sourdough Starter
These Weck jars are absolutely perfect for sourdough. The wide mouth makes it super easy to feed and stir my starter without making a mess, and the glass is thick and durable. I love that they don’t have any metal parts touching the starter—just glass and rubber—so there’s no risk of corrosion or weird smells. The glass lids also sit loosely on top, which is great for letting the starter breathe without drying out. They look beautiful on the counter too, which is a bonus! If you bake sourdough or keep a starter going year-round, these jars are worth every penny. Functional, clean, and so much prettier than a random mason jar!

Finally got my sourdough starter started!
Now I see what all of the buzz is about with these jars when making sourdough starter. I recently took up the hobby of sourdough baking. For whatever reason I was having the worst time getting my sourdough starter to work. I purchased a couple different types of sourdough starter jars, but could just not get my sourdough to take off. After adjusting many different variables, including flour, water, temperature, and just about everything else, I finally broke down and ponied up the cash for these Weck jars that seemed to be on every sourdough reel and video that I watched. Magically, my sourdough actually started doing what it was supposed to. In fact, my sourdough starter activity is crazy good. With that said, I’m sure these jars are not imbued with some sort of magic. However, I think what they ended up bringing to the formula was that they helped maintain consistent moisture and temperature inside the jar for good fermentation of my starter. Now, could I use different jars to get the same type of result? Sure. But now that I have a winning formula, there’s no reason to look any further. These jars do exactly what I need them to do. They’re high-quality and attractive. If you’re planning on dabbling in sourdough, these jars are a great investment to get you going.

Great addition to upping your sourdough starter game.
I heard about these jars back when I first started trying sourdough. I thought that I would wait until I would see if I would even need them. I've always tried to make do with a repurposed jar - after all "just how different could it be" "A jar is a jar, right?" I finally broke down and got a pair of these jars.... If you are actively making sourdough on a regular basis - and especially if you are doing multiple loaves at one time, these actually are MUCH nicer to use than a re-purposed jar, or even another brand designed with sourdough newbies in mind. (this is easier to get your hand in) I like the fact the this jar has straight sides - I can easily get all the "goo" out with a straight silicone spatula. If you have ever tried to scrape dried sourdough starter schmutz left after your rise is over out from under a curved rim of a jar, you'll understand. AND.. the mouth is big... bigger than my last jar. you can actually fit your hand in to wash the jar out. I always wash jars after every feed - this is nice to have two and I can just swap out. It might look like it is super big, but that means there is plenty of room for a nice active "starter party" to happen in your jar. I like that the lid has options.... i can just set the glass lid on for on the counter, or add the seal if it's going to go in the fridge for any amount of "down-time." If you are new to doing sourdough, and find that you are enjoying it - take the plunge and get a pair of theses jars. Treat them with respect and they will last you a lifetime.

Great Sourdough Starter Jars
These jars are just the right size to grow your sourdough starter. They're just deep enough with a wide mouth, making for easy cleaning. The lid comes with clamps and rubber rings which are easily removed leaving a lid which can be loosely placed on the jar.

Beautiful jars but received one of them smashed to smithereens and the other was fine.

Came all in one piece and not broken at all. Quality seems amazing. Super excited to use these to make and store some mayo and ketchup 😊♥️ Both came with lids sealed with a plastic so it wouldn’t move around and break.
