SC 4 Steam Cleaner

It’s good machine it’s almost for everything to clean

No good. Expensive. Does not steam floors properly streaks non stop.

Stop working after 1 year

Kärcher Steam Cleaner SC 4 EasyFix, steam Pressure: 3.5 bar, bought on Amazon is under 2 years old and blowing a fuse everytime we use it. It is under warranty - what recourse do we have ? Thanks, Amelia

The SC4 is relatively small and light and easy to lift and/or tug around. The unit has a water supply tank that you fill up. This automatically feeds a pressurised steamer which produces a continuous supply of steam without you having to wait every now and then for the steam generator to catch up with demand. The steam is delivered at a high or low setting (easily switched) and for most jobs including cleaning floor tiles (and I have a lot of area to clean) the low setting more than copes. The attachments are nicely designed and well made and cleaning tiled floors, killing bed bugs in your matress, smartening up curtains/upholstery and even clothing it does with a breeze. All said this is a really good steam cleaner that does the job WELL. So then, the niggles and there are some but given that the steamer is so good they are NOT a deal breaker but something which Karcher really should address - excellence of German enginering and all that hmmmmm? 1. The electric cord really could do with being a bit longer and also what a bonus IF it was retractable into the body of the steamer when not in use. 2. For the premium price I rather expected more from Karcher in as much as including a carpet glider in the stock unit rather than having to fork out another c. seventeen squids for a bit of plastic. I would also like to have seen as standard at least TWO micro fibre pads for the floor cleaner - for the minimul cost all I can say is that our European cousins are coming up short here. 3. The suggested method and facility for storing the hose, pipework and other accessories is not much short of pathetic and someone in Karcher really needs to go back to design school. Frankly it is a mess but, hey ho, the steamer unit more than makes up for this ............. but WHY should it have to really when for a little more thought in the design department and a few measely spondulics this product could be changed from being good to something outstanding ! So there you go. I have used the SC4 twice now testing out its capabilities and IT IS GOOD but with the niggling limitations. As to price and value for money, my acid test for the SC4 is "I paid 240 squids for it, would I repeat the exercise? YES, despite how it could so easily be improved, none of the niggles detracts from the fact (as I see it) is that this is a VERY CAPABLE DOMESTIC steam cleaner and will do all a demanding home user could ask of it. If I find anything I can add to the abobe (good or not so good) I will add to this report, in the meantime I hope that my practical experience, albeit limited to date, is of help to some out in the ether. If the SC4 was, in my opinion not a good product I would not have used my time writing this ! p.s. Did I mention, cleaning tiled floors the SC4 is really fast to use. Previously I used one of those triangular things from a well known manufacturer whose name begins with the the letter five from the end of the alphabet 9go work it out). OK the Karcher is more than double the price but it WORKS SO MUCH BETTER. Andy

We live in Australia and it was delivered in Australia and it has an American plug. We used an adapter but it keeps slipping out of the wall top easily.
