Sahadi Aleppo Pepper - 7 ounce

This Aleppo Pepper seems fresh and has great flavor. A bit smoky I guess, and it has some heat, but not so much I can't take it. I prefer excellent flavor over heat just for the same of heat. So when I found the wonderful, flavorful Aleppo Pepper, I was really pleased. This great pepper now gets added on to my food while I'm cooking, but it also hits the table along with the salt, pepper, and of course our Sumac! Love this stuff! Great fresh quality!

There were several other Aleppo pepper choices that I considered. All of them seemed to have negative reviews that questioned whether the product customers received was fresh. The Aleppo pepper from this company is not only very fresh, but the container makes it easy to shake a little or a lot on your food. The best part about this pepper is that the heat is mild but extremely flavorful. Adding this to seasoning meat or chicken, or scrambled eggs, enhances their flavor but does not overwhelm it. I would judge the heat level to be much less than a jalapeno pepper, certainly much less spicy than habanero or cayenne. I imagine you could use this Aleppo pepper on anything you might be inclined to put regular black pepper on. It is quite versatile.

This is the second time that I've bought this brand of Aleppo pepper. I love the mildly spicy taste that it adds to any dish. I sprinkle it on pizza and fried eggs, add it to homemade hummus, I even use it in place of paprika when I make goulash. My wife hates spicy food but even she likes the added taste provided by Sahadi Aleppo Pepper.

Great stuff. Similar to standard red pepper flakes but with more body and fruitiness. Good heat but not overpowering. The jar I got was fresh and properly dehydrated, which is less dry than the red pepper flakes you get with a pizza. I cooked a couple dishes with it thus far, and have been very happy with the results and flavor.

I've been buying this for quite some time during the pandemic, it's flavorful and always comes fresh. But it's more than double the price compared to what I usually pay in the Middle Eastern delis in Brooklyn.

I had the most amazing red lentil soup at a Turkish restaurant and have been trying to recreate it. The recipes I found call for Aleppo pepper. I have several other red pepper seasonings and tried those. Not the same. This pepper really gives a unique and subtle flavor. It is a big bottle that will last a long time! Love it!

I'm a BBQ'er and a cooking maven. And I like spicy foods. There are hot pepper spices and there are not-as-hot pepper spices. Chalk up Aleppo pepper in the latter category. It's tastier than red pepper flakes and doesn't have the burn of Cayenne. In short, it makes the perfect addition to any dry rub or spice mixture. Shown above are my spicy chicken wings I cooked up for my Halloween BBQ party. A dry rub with many spices, including this fine Aleppo pepper. If you like spice without the hot, this is a great addition to your kitchen.

The Aleppo Pepper is between hot and mild. You get some heat but not at the loss of flavor. Very good with Greek food!
