Pleasantly Surprised
So far so good! I have not had the chance to bring this on an extended climbing trip yet. I have already packed away my set of cams, nuts, carabiners, ATC, 60m rope, and webbing all into this bag. I could probably fit my harness and shoes in there as well. Very well built bag. I was very impressed after receiving it that my wife and I agreed we needed a second one. So we purchased another in a different color. For the price I do not think you will be able to find a more comfortable and versatile bag. Having a duffel is also far more convenient that an open top hiking bag design. You can unzip it and grab whatever you want without having to dig around trying to get to something in the bottom. The built in rope tarp is also a really nice feature. I would definitely recommend buying this bag.

Love it.
Fits all my climbing gear plus rope and is super stable and comfortable. The built in rope tarp worked great as well.

Incredibly versatile, not just for climbing
Stephen and I bought a pair of these for a bare back charter in French Polynesia. They severely limit baggage on flights to the outer islands. We were able to pack surf fins, our masks and snorkels, enough clothing for a boat, (I brought two bikinis), sanitary items, a bottle of wine and a pound of coffee each.On our next bareback charter, (Belize), we will be far less baggage constrained, so Stephen just outfitted his bag to be our primary emergency go bag, (earthquakes, eruptions), for our Seattle area home. Here is a link to Stephen's blogpost:http://sumnertravel.blogspot.com/2015/06/seattle-go-bag.htmlWhile it is not really a backpack, (I am a Kelty kid), it works well enough. It stays close enough to the body when doing things like jumping from the dock to the boat.
